blackvette702 Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 I'm very new to DCS and I'm looking for help with key bindings for the F-15, F-16, F/A-18 & A-10C. I'm trying to find key bindings for these aircraft using the WinWing Orion 2 HOTAS files with a description of the function of each button. If anyone can point me to such a file, if it exist, it would help me a lot. thanks in advance.
firefox121 Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 (edited) use the simapp, configure it to point to ypor dcs savegames blah blah blah and don't forget to check that no changes are made in the export file.... Backup your input folder in your savegames dcs installation in case you have binded some module that you like. then select your device (no matter hotas or stick) and in the label keybinding should appear all your installed modules, click in the image module ad choose the one you like and the name of one you like in the right and download it , in the left should appear the same name, just click in run.....it should save that specific keybinding in your module inputs joystick folder. So use the dcs to see what keys are assigned to what button or use the joystick diagram program to see in a pdf your inputs and print them. https://github.com/Rexeh/joystick-diagrams If you want the templates for the orion and the f18 stick PM a private and I'll send you the files Edited January 20, 2023 by firefox121 Intel i9 10850k - MSI Tomahawk 490z - 64 GB DDR4 3000 - HP Reverb G2 - MSI optix Mag321curv 4k monitor - MSI RTX 3080ti - Winwing Orion Throttle base plus F18 stick

These are the main functions you want in the a-10c for most of these aircraft in the controls area, there is a section called hotas where you can bind the pertinent controls. The rest of the leftover functions, flaps, gear, trim, autopilot, bind as you see fit… for the a-10 and f-18 you will want trim somewhere on your stick, up/dn/lt/rt.. f-16 you only NEED left and right, Up/dn automatically stabilizes to 1G.. you can trim differently, but mostly unnecesary. Mind you, some functions in the hotas menu you may not necessarily need, like the multiple radio controls ( if you have easy comms turned on), might bite you in the ass if you go into a more hardcore server that doesn’t allow easy comms for example. As for what functions you do need/ want to access via the hotas, you kinda have to learn the modules and use what makes sense.. my stick isn’t a replica of an actual a stick so I try to keep the same switches in the same spots for multiple aircraft.. countermeasures, trim, tms, dms, Radar elevation, tgp controls( for the most part), radar cursor, tdc, tdc depress etc etc Edited January 20, 2023 by MadKreator Intel i7 13700k, ASUS rog strix z790A, 64gigs G.Skill Trident DDR5 @6400Mhz, Nvidia RTX 4080FE, 4TB, 2x 2TB, 1TB Samsung NVME, 1TB Samsung SSD, Corsair RM1000x, Corsair Titan 360 X AIO cooler, Lian Li LanCool 2, VKB Gunfighter Ultimate, VKB Custom STECS , MFG Crosswinds, Moza FFB, Virpil Collective, Track IR5, 48” LG UltraGear OLED & HP 24” touchscreen for Helios,49” Samsung Ultrawide, Streamdeck XL, Corsair Virtuoso RGB Headphones
