How can you increase the visability distance for buildings and hangers, town buildings etc. I have the cache set at 200,000 and objects set at 50,000 and high clipping for structures etc. My problem is when I depart an airport, before I get to the end of the runway hangers and town buildings, fences just disappear. They won't pop up unless I am almost on top. This is a new problem as I had these settings before and they would disappear and pop up at a reasonable distance. Don't know what happened. clean install on everything. Still won't work. Objects placed by me at airport or on terrain, stay for a very reasonable time. This is what is odd it is the preloaded original stuff that I have the problem with and cacheing is maxed out. Please any ideas would be useful. Thanks.:noexpression:

Check visibility distance in Setup\graphics!

If that doesn't solve you problem try installing LOCFG utility and setup clipping and visibility distances with it!

I think max distance you can set (that works) is 10Km and by increasing density value ("structures = 100, 10000"; ) you can have smaller type buildings show at longer distance. Try changing this value yourself (in Graphics.cfg file) and see the effect, but just so you are aware it does affect framerate quite a bit.

I use Modman 6.03 to set everything. Structure to 150,10000, objects 7000,100000 and pre cache to 200000 objects 50000. Using all planar, everything else maxed ,except water=low. near clip=.02 mid=4.0,far-8000 and Lod=2.0. FPS is between 80 on ground 132-163 in air. Slight movement on fences , small wires and depending on angle some on F2 view of A/C. Ground , rivers, trees all stable. I never notice trees popping up unless I really look hard, flows in nicely. Just the damned buildings. These are newer settings with some slight improvement as to distance that they remain. I installed new western hanger and you can see that soon as the airport is visiable. Strange that object put in you can see from a good distance but anything else in structures does not. Hope this helps but I am lost. I think I have it as good as it will get. I do not lose FPS unless I change settings for the GPU then things can really slow up if wrong settings are used. Not to bad now , at least I can get a few miles from end of runway before they start to pop out of view, before I would only be 2/3 down runway when it started. Thanks guy's for the feedback, really appreciate it. If something comes to mind , pop it on the thread. I will be watching for a while. Cheers.

I think structures (and all 3d objects) have priority visibility setings. Any objects you place have priority one meaning they will be visible to max alowable distance. Structures that are part of the scenery have scalable prioritisation and this is where desnity value kicks in, the higher this value the more you can see objects that have lower priority.
