Howdy Gents,

Gonna date myself here but its for the mission..was in Spangdalem 76-79.

As an EW tech worked on the original Wild Weasel the D model...only a few survived Vietnam to make it too Germany and they were a mess.

Those early systems stuffed in some tight holes.."excuse my French"

Some of the Spang drivers I’ve met were some of the ballsiest flyers (pre-16!). Myself, I was FGR2 (RAF).

Always thought the originals were developments of the ‘C’ frame? Not ‘D’. And they REALLY shoehorned the wiring looms into them! Fires were a common threat I believe.

We only had 5 WW AC..we just labeled em D's.

Got me TDY to Spain and Sicily a few times.. anything

too get out of Germany in the winter..🥶

52TFW All the F4's were Tropical based moved to Sub freezing temps.

70% wiring issues...I know for a fact fact 555 never worked..lol
