Mosquito Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Hi all My first ever post here. Just downloaded Black Shark (thi is my first attempt at a helo sim ever after years on Falcon 4, Jane's F/A-18, Flanker, IL2, LOMAC, etc) two days ago and having a ball with it. I'm using a Cougar with Viper's profile. The only problem is it doesn't have a rudder funstion mapped to any of the switches or rotaries and I'm having a lot of trouble with the helo. My first question: Is it possible to have the rudder function mapped to the Cougar's Antenna rotary? My second question: can anyone send me the Foxy code for the rudder function as I'm completely useless with using Foxy? I had thought of using Jagstang's F4 profile which had the rudder function mapped to the Antenna rotary. Would copying and pasting Jagstang's rudder code to Viper's profile work for Black Shark? I just thought I'd try this out before I go out and buy myself a set of rudder pedals. Any help on this is really appreciated. Mosquito
Legolasindar Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Hi Mosquito, im happy you use my profile. Have a question, you speak spanish? I say for you nickname :D 1. Yes you can assign rudders to Antenna rotary. Go inside BS Options-Controls, select Axis Commands and set rudder axis in Antenna axis. 2. But not need code in foxy for this, only need asign axis of rudders to antenna inside Controls of BS. Is better option than asign rudder in foxy profile. With rudder assigned in antena axis inside BS you have real axis, with rudder asign in antena axis in foxy profile you Not have real axis. 3. Yes you can copy/paste code of the one profile to other profile, but need little changes. And in this case is not the better solution. I hope this help you. Mosquito Posted January 27, 2009 Author Posted January 27, 2009 Hi Legolasindar Thanks very much for the reply. Will check it out asap and let you know how it works. You may have just saved me US$90 for the cost of a pair of rudder pedals!
LtFransky Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Mosquito, the rudder pedals are worth the cost. Or you could DIY a set. There a quite a few sets of plans around. Ours is not to reason why, but rather to do and die. A man walks into a zoo. The only animal in the entire zoo is a dog. It's a shitzu
Mosquito Posted January 27, 2009 Author Posted January 27, 2009 Hi Legolasindar Your suggestion worked really well. My Cougar's Antenna rotary is now a working rudder, although it's a little bit hyper sensitive. Now just need to work on the other minor Cougar problems regarding the profile Fransky, will probably take you up on your suggestion and get a rudder pedals anyway.

You could try adjusting the response curve for the rudder axis in BS to make it less sensitive at center.
