LennyLloyd Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Hi, I have this problem: When a flight first starts up the engine noise in cockpit view seems really loud. If I then go to outside view, I hear it quieter, which seems to make sense. If I then go back to cockpit view, the engine noise is pretty much the same volume as in outside view. If I then pause and unpause the game, the engine noise is suddenly mega loud again. Now, I'm not sure how loud the engine noise is meant to be (I know the inside of a chopper is loud as). Seems like there's something funny going on anyway. Anyone else have this problem? I guess it's probably a driver issue, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas.
Chillspider Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 this happens to me sometimes . All of a sudden it will be really loud in the cockpit so i hit F2 then F1 back to cockpit and its quiet again. Shaman Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Same problem here. I guess sound engine is bugged. There's a workaround for this - above. Let's be patient - patch is coming ;) o 51PVO Founding member (DEC2007-) 100KIAP Founding member (DEC2018-) :: Shaman aka [100☭] Shamansky tail# 44 or 444 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 100KIAP Regiment Early Warning & Control officer
LennyLloyd Posted January 27, 2009 Author Posted January 27, 2009 Glad it's not just me then. Thanks guys, will F2-F1 for now as suggested. Roll on patch 1.

JDski Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I have the same issue. Not so much that it gets real loud, but it gets quiet. Going to external and back as fixed it for me as well. I have always had a simular issue in Lock On as well and still do.
JG14_Smil Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 (edited) if you can't go external (like it is disabled in an online server), you can open and close the door to restore sound to 'inside' the cockpit. doh, just saw this in an earlier post. Edited January 27, 2009 by JG14_Smil oops
ericinexile Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Yeah, I always open the door and let it close on its own. Something similar to this happens with Flaming Cliffs as well--afterburner noise at engine start. I recall from the LOMAC forum that it is a Vista issue. koyan Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I hope they also fix the, what's it called 'phasing' or 'doppler' effect? A effect when a single sound file is looped twice at the same speed. We have two engines, but a single sound file. With F2 or F3 view i don't mind, inside the cockpit i don't like it. Gerrit
cheburashka Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 same here. F2-F1 helps temporarily. ALSO i noticed similar problem when my wing man approaches. his engines seem much louder than should be, but again... F1 F2 solves both of these.
