nscode Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Who's talking about AMRAAM's and shooting down? I'm saying they would have no problem detecting an F-22 radar lock or search in an intercept. If it came to shooting anything the message from Russia would come from miles higher and 10 times faster... Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.
X-man Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 (edited) They show incredible intelligence, they never attack the same place twice. Funniest comment in this thread  Edited January 28, 2009 by X-man 1 64th Aggressor Squadron Discord: 64th Aggressor Squadron TS: 135.181.115.54

Case Posted January 29, 2009 Author Posted January 29, 2009 Apparently the info on wikipedia was incorrect. It now talks about 2 Tu-95's being intercepted by 4 F-15's.27 January 2009 — Two Tu-95 flew patrol over the Arctic Ocean and near Alaska. They were accompanied by four USAF F-15 fighters for about 10 minutes. But more importantly, it provides a source for the information: http://en.rian.ru/russia/20090128/119842464.html There are only 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
eurofor Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 "Two Tu-95 flew patrol over the Arctic Ocean and near Alaska. They were accompanied by four USAF F-15 fighters for about 10 minutes." That sounds a lot more realistic. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
CE_Mikemonster Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 (edited) Earlier this year there was a report in UK newspapers about another interception of a Bear or something, in the North sea. As far as i'm aware it's not even probing for weaknesses over here, just a case of flexing of the muscles a little bit in relation to gas supplies in Eastern Europe. Made a nice advert for the Eurofighter though! Front page justification for a cold war fighter (in 2009...). Edit: Aug 2007. Edited February 4, 2009 by CE_Mikemonster Too many cowboys. What does this picture have to do with gas supplies in Eastern Europe? CE_Mikemonster Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 lol good point Veljko, it has nothing directly to do with them, my apologies (I was going off a memory which was obviously quite poor!). Apparently Putin started fortnightly Russian air patrols again in 2007, for the first time since 1992. Too many cowboys. Not enough indians. GO APE SH*T
