As with everything, if you buy crap hardware you'll get crap performance. But wired will always out-perform wireless as there's no interference to deal with, no channel hopping to do, and no noise (by comparison). It will also not cause you to get NAS ;) What interference GG Tharos? Even my microwave doesn't interfere with my wireless connection and I dont hop channels I'm permantley on one channel. I have NAS to stream my music and films to my TV's and stereo's upstairs and downstairs without having to be at my computer or have it switched on. Also most of my devices are networked in peer to peer I can send music from one stereo to the other and vice versa without a PC now try doing that with a cabled network without a great big birds nest. Connected my DSL modem/router to one of them, and now enjoying Internet access and online gaming from every power outlet. I can recommend Allnet 168205 200 MBit adapter. kind regards, Raven.... I can place my gaming pc in any room now (once I can buy it),and I don't have to drip and snake wires. Also, can you give a bit more info about how your modem is connected to the adapter? Flyby out I know you're waiting on a reply for something else, but I just had a quick google for 'powerline adapters' and it seems that Netgear are monopolising Google searches lol, that was all there was on the first page. I found this, though i'm sure you'll have seen similar (this is the UK version). It has a benchmark for the Netgear one, as well as a couple of others. http://www.trustedreviews.com/networking/review/2007/01/25/Netgear-HDXB101-Powerline-HD-Ethernet-Adapters/p1 I hought it was interesting that it mentioned a Panasonic version with 'more features' that actually cost less. Some seem to have AV features (like Belkin's), and it's probably worth getting those, seemed only about £20 more. I'm feeling a bit stung now for using Wireless N1 lol. On the other hand you'll need a decent router anyway to plug the adapters into - so make sure you see what speed HD streaming videos at and match that (might futureproof things a little bit). powerline does look like a winner though, plus it's just the sort of thing you can get dirt cheap on eBay (BNIB).
