jeffreymg Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 I have a Logitech Extreme 3D PRO joystick and for the life of me, which is 68 yrs old I can not get the AH-64 off the ground. I have looked for a profile for the stick and I do not have rudder pedals. Does anyone have suggestions that I can use to make the Apache fly? JeffG Jeffrey Gerbert

It rolls on you on the ground? Spins after take off? Best thing would be for you to provide short track, so we can see what is happening and what you are doing with your controls.
jeffreymg Posted February 19, 2023 Author Posted February 19, 2023 I can not make it off the ground, I just spin around than roll to side and crash. I have rudder and the stick mapped but the throttle is also mapped. I can not figure out how to map the collective? I would do a track but no clue how. JeffG Jeffrey Gerbert
Floyd1212 Posted February 20, 2023 Posted February 20, 2023 You don't need to map the throttle, just the collective. Move the throttles to FLY during the startup procedure with your mouse, then leave them alone. The collective is what you want to manipulate during flight.

JeffG If you are flying in your own or instant action mission, once you finish flying and press Quit, you will get to a screen where there are buttons along the bottom. There is one that says Save track. Click it and save track. Upload that file here (keep it as short as possible and no mods).
stonewall197922 Posted February 20, 2023 Posted February 20, 2023 (edited) Setting correct Cyclic Trimmer Mode also helps a lot. Personally for me, binding rudder as separate buttons improved stability. I found it hard at first times to stabilize AH-64 with rudder binded to joystick twist. It`s possible to fly with rudder binded to joystick twist, but you must get used to controls and practice with trimmer. Read carefuly how trimmer and Trimmer Modes works. Avoid sudden sharp Cyclic movements (at least until you get used to controls). Edited February 20, 2023 by stonewall197922
