FlankerKiller Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 As stated above. I'm not talking about new functionality that needs to be programed. I'm simply asking you to edit the Comm documents to allow the following commands. Attack armor Attack Utility Attack Artillery Attack Infantry Attack ships Attack air defenses Also please have a command to turn off Radar on any aircraft equipped with a radar. Again I'm not asking for new programing. I've edit the comm files myself, and the functionality is there. Some aircraft even have it in their comm file. But on many aircraft there is no way to call it. I've got my own custom comm files for most aircraft. But my C++ skills are limited. So what I'm asking for is for someone to sit down and edit the base comm file, for jet fighters, then add it. I can PM an example of what I've done if you would like. 2
upyr1 Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 My main question with this is how hard would it be to target a specific unit type in real life? That's something that should be modeled with a request like this IMHO.
FlankerKiller Posted February 23, 2023 Author Posted February 23, 2023 With targeting pods pretty easy. Honestly it would definitely be easier IRL then in the sim. Our eyes are much more acute then what we can be displayed virtually. Also it is already kinda modeled. Listen to your wingmens call outs. They will call the kind of units they detect. If you try to have them engage a unit type that they don't see the will just respond with a negative. What you have to understand is this functionality is already fully present in the game as it sits today. Every aircraft type has it. You just have to add the lines to a text file and then you can call on it. Users of the late great Viocom all used this. The stock text file is the only reason you don't have it. I personally edit the file myself for the main aircraft that I intend to fly. But it's a pain. I have to disable it to play online, and I have to reinstall it after every update. All I'm asking for here is to just give us the ability to call up these functionalities as part of thr base game.
