Hi everyone, My Name Theo i am 58  years old and i am from the Netherlands, in 2019 i wass hit by a major stroke and from 2020 i am not be able to work anymore. To keep mine brain and right arm working a bit i started to try to fly in DCS at the end of 2020 and i enjoying it very much. I have the F\A 18 Hornet and the terrains NTTR, Persian Gulf and Sirya. I fly mostly single player because i think that multipllayer is way to hectic for mine brain. I watch a lot of the one on one trainingvideos of Spudknocker on Youtube wich i very like. I learn a lot from these videos.

I am using Trackir 5 also but setting it up is difficult, it's works but i see on youtube people setting up trackir and start DCS and they adjust by alt tab to go back to trackir software to make adjustments. i try to do the same thing, but on my PC when DCS starts, the trackir icon dissapear from the status bar below. I can not open the trackir software aswell because another program is ussing it, after a reboot of my PC i can open the software again.

I stil havent find the solution for this problem but i keep searching. If ennyone had the same issue, please react to my topic.

PS, apologies for the type faults, i try to do best.

Greetings,

Theo

I hope you can follow along as I assume your Windows may not be in English.  I'll try and point out which item it should be in a list to give you a general idea where to look if it's not English.

After you boot your computer, run Track IR.  Then right click on an open area of the bottom bar of your window.  Pick "TASKBAR SETTINGS" (should be the bottom item and have a gear next to it).  Go to taskbar options (should be bottom left).  In "NOTIFICATION AREA" (about 1/2 way down), pick the 1st option - "Select which icons appear on taskbar".  Set Track IR to on and it should show up in the taskbar.

Alternatively, if you click on the up arrow to the left of time/date icons (circled in red below), you should find the Track IR icon in the bunch of icons that that show up above it.

Note that you'll need to RIGHT CLICK on the icon and pick "minimize/maximize to tray" to get it to open.

Hi Rob10, First many thanks for reacting on my topic. I have done what you wrote and indeed trackir shows in the bar, after a few attemps i finnaly got it.

Now i haven't got the time to connect mine Proclip to test some adjustments at the same time as running DCS but i will try it tommorow.

Again many thanks for your help, i realy appreciate it.

TheoBouw64 if nothing else I learned some important stuff prior to my pending purchase of a TrackIR.......... I've always wanted to fly the formation missions and am finding out the TrackIR is absolutely essential for that alone.

Given your physical challenges, I wish to share a suggestion you might consider....... ever tried acupuncture? My father suffered a number of strokes, severely compromising his career as a jazz bassist. Acupuncture nearly completely reversed the damage; he was blessed with full recovery, from pain and numbness in arms and hands to the timing between brain and hands. I myself have experienced incredible therapeutic effects of acupuncture on serious nervous system issues.

It's certainly worth a try. Best wishes to you from Chesapeake Bay, USA 🙂
