When a wingman flies directly overhead, are the effects of downwash modelled?

i.e. Will your aircraft struggle to maintain altitude?

I was hovering at the FARP and for one reason or another one of my Wingmen flew over, and I can't recall any turbulence.

I remember reading of the chaos caused to a Lynx helicopter on finals when a Chinook flew over it in forward flight, just got me thinking. I couldn't find anything using the search function - if i'm using the wrong terminology please forgive me!

I doubt that's modeled in the sim at this time. Wouldn't be a very high priority thing to be implemented either I'd imagine.

It does happen. I was playing with my bro and we were playing follow the leader. I slowed sharply and he went under my chopper. We were fairly low (sub-40m) and he lost it as soon as he went beneath me. He didn't lose control, he just dropped like a brick.

The only explanantion we could think of was the downdraft from my rotors disrupted his air. If that's the case, it was a 'that's pretty cool' moment.

I just tried hovering under my wingman when he was static, no turbulence whatsoever. Possibly its only modelled with human Ka-50's in multiplayer? I'm sure if it was correctly modelled you'd know about it!

Just as well I suppose, as they are so happy to fly directly overhead when rejoining formation.

I take it that slipstream effects and turbulence with fast jets won't be modelled in the later modules?
