Hi all,

I've been going back and forward for a few days now considering a new monitor. I used to have a 3440p monitor I'm not a huge fan of the vertical space for combat sims, just a personal preference and not at all knocking anyone with who enjoys UW!

Currently I have an okay 27" screen but I'd really enjoy something bigger and more immersive. I don't want to go above 1440p as my 3070 has great FPS at this level.

This is the monitor I'm looking at, and I've found a great deal on it locally: Gigabyte M32Q Review - RTINGS.com

So having measured up, 32" would be perfect for the size I'd like in terms of immersion, and this monitor does seem to have great reviews. Some people online say the PPI is too low (93) but I do wonder if the majority of these people are perhaps more attuned to these things than I am, in the same way I can listen to mid range speakers and enjoy them, but an audiophile might say they're unlistenable!

I've been through four professional reviews for the monitor now, and it does get very high ratings.

Would this be a good option for me, given I only use my PC for sims? MSFS, IL2, DCS and BMS.

I'm looking for: Greater immersion, decent spotting, good image quality but the same performance in terms of resolution.

The deal has this monitor about 30% cheaper than usual,  so I'm thinking it might be a good buy and upgrade from my 27" Acer screen.

Advice appreciated!

Absolutely, the Gigabyte M32Q is an excelent monitor and 5'' inches larger screen will surely be noticed, bigger imersion. 👍 Go for it.

hey LucShep, thanks very much for the response. I keep reading people talking about the PPI being really bad - is that actually true? Its the only thing putting me off. Thanks

Nonsense. If you worry about some sort of blurry image and large pixels coming from a 27'', then don't because it's really fine.

That monitor has an excelent IPS panel. More over, it has been among the top 3 contenders in its class, which have been:

SAMSUNG Odyssey G7 Series C32G75T 32'' 1440P (2560x1440, 16:9 format), 240Hz, 1ms, G-Sync and FreeSync compatible, Curved (1000R)
ASUS ROG Swift PG329Q 32'' 1440P (2560x1440, 16:9 format), IPS, 175Hz (Supports 144Hz), 1ms, G-Sync compatible, non-curved.
GIGABYTE M32Q 32" 1440P (2560x1440, 16:9 format) IPS, 165Hz, 0.8ms (MPRT), 94% DCI-P3, HDR Ready, FreeSync compatible, non-curved.

If you want a very good 32'' monitor with 1440P native resolution, you can't do any wrong with that M32Q.

EDIT: the usual monitor settings adjustments and calibrations should definitely be tried once you get it (if not totally happy), as per usual with any PC monitor or even a TV.
They all tend to be "so-so" calibrated from factory (and why sometimes impressions vary from user to user).

Thank you mate I really appreciate your help with this. I ordered it to arrive tomorrow :)
