truebrit Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 These companies have been improving the scenery graphics of Microsoft Flight Simulator for decades, it would be great if they made a rework of Caucuses. I'm expecting great things from Orbx's Kola map, it would be great if they could upgrade other older maps to a 2023 standard. I'm sure the community would appreciate some nicer textures, buildings etc for a few quid. 5 Planes: A-10C/II - FC3 - F/A-18C - F-16c - F-5 - F-15E - F-4E Helicopters: UH-1H Huey - KA-50 Black Shark - AH-64D Maps: Sinai - Normandy 2.0 - Channel - Syria - Persian Gulf - South Atlantic Extras: Supercarrier - WWII Asset Pack PC SPECS: CPU, Intel i5 12600k | MOBO, MSI, MAG 760 TOMAHAWK | MEMORY, Corsair 64GB DDR4 | GRAPHICS CARD, RTX 4070 SUPER | PSU, 850W | Flight Stick, Logitech X-56 | Rudder Pedals, Logitech G | O/S, Windows 10, 64bit | Storage Drives, 2GB M.2 | MONITOR, ASUS TUF Gaming 2560X1440 180Hz
Beirut Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 I would love to see custom ORBX airfields like in the civvy sims. Groom Lake would be my first choice. Maybe some upgraded terrain of the surrounding area and a killer high detail airfield. I'd be happy to shell out for that. 2 Some of the planes, but all of the maps!

Unlike in most civil sims, a building being in a different position for two different people can cause huge problems. Then you also have to consider the effects on the AI and weapons. It's not that it can't work, but it might not be exactly the same as the civil sim situation. 1 Awaiting: DCS F-15C Win 10 i5-9600KF 4.6 GHz 64 GB RAM RTX2080Ti 11GB -- Win 7 64 i5-6600K 3.6 GHz 32 GB RAM GTX970 4GB -- A-10C, F-5E, Su-27, F-15C, F-14B, F-16C missions in User Files

I hear ya, but I think at the level of "sophistication" that most DCS flyers are at (laughter permitted) they can figure out what's what. The same guy who doesn't buy a Hornet campaign or try to join an MP Hornet mission because he doesn't have the Hornet can hash this out as well. Good point about the AI and weapons. Maybe just a first class retexturing would be enough. As for the FPS hits @Steel Jaw mentioned, hopefully the core updates in tomorrow's patch will pre-empt that. 1 Some of the planes, but all of the maps!
