Goteb Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 I apologize for this trivial question but I need some certainty about my hardware capability of running BS and how. My specs are: Notebook DELL Vostro 1700 with a core 2 duo 7500 (2.2GHz), 2GB RAM, Nvidia 8600m GT DDR2 with 256 MB dedicated and up to 512mb shared, Vista Business 32bit. Someone with a similar configuration could give some details about the perfromances in different conditions (ex. over the cities, over battelfield, etc. etc.) ? TNX:helpsmilie:
Pavlos Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 (edited) I'm sure it will run, it even runs on an AMD 2400+ or so with a GeForce 5900, not at maximum settings of course. I've got an AMD 4200+ X2 (2.2GHz, dual core), 2 GB RAM, and a Nvidia 7600GT AGP with 256 MB, and 2GB of RAM. With adequate graphics settings (medium) it runs at about 20 fps when close to some, and goes up to to 30-50 or even more at all other times. Resolution 1024x768. It does suffer when many objects are around (like in the "Battle" mission). Your video card is one generation better than mine (and PCI-express too) and it'll certainly do better. You may still not be able to max out everything but it will run well enough. Edited January 31, 2009 by Pavlos GNSF

Ali Fish Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 (edited) may i just say. im using my 4.5 year old PC with BS and it rocks. 1 gig ram. running at 2.0 ghz (3gig amd) GF-7800 (AGP 256). very very surprised. 25 fps in cockpit when stressed and 30-50fps on external. Maybe i should be thankfull its been released with DX8 only capability !!!! anyway ..... medium settings here with shkval set to 512. no heat blur, medium viz range. and no civillian traffic. i also think the recommended specs and minimum are very realistic, most realistic ive seen quoted. experimental_pilot Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 It will run fine. I'm running with a P4 3GHz, 1GB ram, ATI x1650 Pro 512mb, XP SP3. It runs fine on Low settings. Graphics and performance are decent, so your pc will be even better.

In LOFC, setting the Scenes to Low greatly improved performance, but pretty much disabled all objects (buildings, trees, etc). How's that in BS?

I have Scenes and Vis Range set to Low, yet there are still plenty of objects on the ground. Not like in LockOn where the ground would become barren. Try it out.
