After first days of the new year 2009 (in our lunar calenda) i've some money

Going to upgrade my 17" CRT monitor to a 19" widescreen LCD and a new HIS HD4670 512MB to replace the old X1650XT, they cost...about $280

Here're my choices:

LCD: Asus VW198T - 19" widescreen LCD supports resolution 1680x1050, HDCP...

Mid-end ATI: HIS Radeon HD4670 512MB

So, the question is:

Does the mid-end HD4670 512MB run LOFC and DCS-BS well at resolution 1680x1050 (or lower 1440x900) at high settings ?

...And must i set "Full shadow" of LOFC to "All planar" on DX10.1 card ?

I can't see why it wouldn't be ok, there are a few of us using 3850's with 1900x1200 (like me) and they be fine!

(I have mirrors off, mostly High settings, and up till about 3.6GHz on a Dual Core the CPU is a bottleneck, so if you're not going to OC past that the GPU isn't a huge concern[iMHO])

EDIT:

For the monitor, make sure you read a lot of reviews by gamers!

See what it is like for motion blurring, ghosting and input lag. Some screens don't perform so well for moving pictures, but can display very vibrant colours (so are good for image editing etc instead). It is very frustrating to have a large monitor and not be able to watch DVD's because faces blur, shadows remain etc. Regards MM

Oh, sounds good

I decided to get HD4670 512MB :D

About LCD monitor, some people who using this Asus VW198T said it's good quality

/ I'm also an amateur overclocker, running an E2160 (1.8Ghz) @ 3.2Ghz and having great performance on LOFC & DCS
