Frederf Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 When you wish to change the WP sequence, you can perform the following procedure: Disengage ROUTE mode by setting the ROUTE DESCENT switch on the collective to the neutral position. Turn off the WPT push-light on the PVI-800 Navigation Control panel. This light and the WP indication number on the display will go out. Press the WPT push-light and it will illuminate. On the Navigation Control panel keypad, set the new first WP by pressing the corresponding keypad button. The number (WP), will then be visible on the display. Press the ENTER push-light and the first WP will be saved into navigation computer memory. Repeat this process for the next five WPs. When complete, turn off the WPT mode. The new WP sequence will be saved in navigation computer memory. I've tried this in both likely PVI master modes (OPER and EDIT) without success. I'm using the training mission for autopilot navigation which has 4 waypoints loaded. I'm also confused by "repeat this process" because the process beginning is not clearly defined. Do I have to disengage ROUTE mode for each waypoint?
Jimmah Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I second this. The procedure (though not clearly defined in the manual) doesn't appear to work. It'd be mighty useful to know how to rearrange waypoints though!
bumfire Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 PDF manual or the paid for manual ? Because if its the pdf then alot of things which fred you will already know about are not correct, but with the paid for manual they supposodly fixed alot of the bugs they picked up on with the pdf version, so i hope the paid version is correct as I have just ordered mine.
Jimmah Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Er, the PDF manual, which I paid for, as part of the game! If there are corrections I certainly shouldn't have to pay to get them!!
bumfire Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 True True, I think they might release an updated pdf manual at some point in the future especially since alot of corrections have been added onto the paid for manual, their is a thread somwhere listing all the bugs that ppl have managed to find in the manual and their is a fair few of them.
GGTharos Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I'll redo the procedure if I remember when I get back home, but I am reasonably certain that it does indeed work. And yes, you must be in EDIT mode to do this. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

Kurtz Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I think it works the same as NAV TARGET entry. Try this- 1. Select EDIT 2. Select NAV TARGET 3. Select Target Number eg:2 4. Select POSITIVE or NEGATIVE entry eg: 1 or 0 5. Enter top line coordinates(LAT) 6. Press ENTER 7. Repeat steps 4-6 for second line(LON) 8. Return to "OPER" on completion and check coordinates. This works for me when entering new target, but i havnt tried waypoints yet, but i figure the process will be similar.

Jimmah Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Ah, that might be the problem. My manual tells me to use Normal Operation mode: Set the PVI mode selector to the “РАБ” (Normal operation) position. Set the “ЗК-ЛЗП” (Desired Heading – Desired Track Angle) switch on the Autopilot panel (right side panel) to the “ЗК” (DH) position. Press the “ППМ” (WP) push-button on the PVI. Using the PVI keypad, select the WP number selected as initial. After doing so, the number of the pre-programmed WP is displayed on the Waypoint display. Press the “ВВОД” (Enter) button and the initial WP is loaded in the PNK. Repeat this procedure for the rest of the WPs in the new sequence. After inputting the last WP, press the “ППМ” (WP) push-button again. The WP sequence will then be saved in navigation computer memory. In regards to repeating the procedure, I presume that refers to steps 4 & 5? If it's any use, I'm using the PDF manual that came with the English Download version - downloaded 17/05/09.
