absolain Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Hey, I've been TRYING to get this perfected, but as my second day behind the stick, it's just the start! First question: How do I turn real mode on if it's already been installed? Second: I spent the better part of yesterday figuring out how to start the chopper. . . but every mission i pick has me already started up. What gives? I guess that's it so far. I still have a ton of learning to do about the systems, and I'm sure once I've spent some serious time looking at them all, a lot more will make sense to me (like how to get the plane to point in the right direction! It keeps turning!)
connos Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Hi there. In the option settings you can switch to simulation and game mode. I started with learning to flight the helo, landing, hovering, maneuvering. Then combat employment with all the weapon modes and then the ABRIS and wingman commands and coperation. After mastering everythink i started the first campaing. With no vernelability just to see how i will perform. It took me a month and i still have a lot to learn. Amazing sim. absolain Posted February 3, 2009 Author Posted February 3, 2009 oh, just the thing that turns off easy flying and easy avionics?
S7_Viper Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 1) Go into the options, Click the top tab that says "Gameplay" 2) Click the bottom left button that says "Simulation" 3) On the right of that same page, put a check in the box that says " Use these options for any mission" That is problem one. Problem 2. I too am sad that you cant start the bird for every mission. It has been discussed though that you would have to go into, and edit all of the campaign missions to "start on the Parkway" so that you would have to start the helo. That may affect the start times though as some missions are timed for triggers. But many missions that you can download for play will have you starting up the way we want to. Its just one of those things. Good luck and have fun!!
Acedy Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Matt changed his Oil-War campaign so that you have to do a cold start at the beginning of each mission. The new version will be included in the upcoming patch. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] *** SERVMAN SERVER MANAGEMENT MOD V2 FOR DCS:BS V1.0.1 *** *** VERSION FOR FC2 ***
DTWD Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Matt changed his Oil-War campaign so that you have to do a cold start at the beginning of each mission. The new version will be included in the upcoming patch. Cool, can we have this for all the campaigns? Maybe an option in the settings "Start cold" or "Start normally". I for one jab the "cheat" shutdown key as soon as I get into a mission so I can power it back up properly. I just don't trust the state it's in when I get to it powered up. I had one instance where some the buttons in the cockpit were on, but the device was actually off. Basically the button state was not reversed to what it was actually doing. So I had to switch stuff off to get it on. Regards [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
