Hi @dark_wood!

Warzones NAMES (like "WAR-Something") are key value to achieve persistence, changing them will cause major issues 😅

However, you can change any configuration you want, but persistence will always overwrite the "totals" (captotal, groundtotal, ecc) values, and bluesupport limits if you purchased some during previous round. Also, being persistent, sam sites and zone targets won't be editable.

Thanks @Pantera93, it make sense now. I have played with "intercept" setting, starting with 1 as default value (AI unaware that will be "visited" by BLUE side :)) ), then update it to 0 - RED side is waiting me with CAPs .

Keep the great work, I like the feeling of not knowing what to expect from enemy (recon flights are really important now) - sometime I'm tempted to take a look on TacView debrief, but only to check if my config is working as expected 🙂

Recon for sam sites and targets was exactly the main reason that made me do this! First flight of a new "campaign" is always an HTS only equipped Viper or a Viggen to gather intel.

Very good idea the intercept switch! I'm gonna steal it for my next runs 😉

Hi @Spanker79, you mean as an attack/defense type of scenario? Like placing a zone and defining it as a target for red or blue coalition and have the other defend it? Did you have something else in mind?

It may come in the future, I will write it down in the roadmap 😉

Thank you!

I mean than as you can set for BLUE coalition and host it as a server with BLUE clients to have also the same for RED coalition..
A PvP Warzone let's say..

A PvP Warzone let's say..

I can implement a "coalitiontarget" config value for each zone, which determines if a zone is target for Blue or Red, and add all the functions now available for Blue (radios, services, etc.) to Red as well.

This will give you a PvP attack - defence zone scenario.

Then, if you overlap 2 zones in your mission, one for Blue and one for Red, you have a double-sided PvP zone! :pilotfly:

It's a workaround, but should do the trick with a smaller effort compared to rewriting the whole spawning and persistence logic to make it double-sided for each zone...

However, this will come later in development...

Let me know what you think 😉

This seems awesome I think I am having same issue as Minhal though same error and war doesn't start, I downloaded attached lua and still got the same, is there a previous release?

Hi @shinobi61,

Try release 0.4 if you can, or add a "template" configuration property to your zones to avoid this problem.

Let me know if it works

Hi thanks for reply, starting with fresh mission just add the zone and lua (even with 0.4) get this error still, maybe i have different issue?
Regards

edit: Seems adding template works though, thanks, gonna see how far i get before i get confused with something lol

Hi @shinobi61, will look into that ASAP thanks for the feedback.

However, doesn't it work for you with the files attached here?

Let me know!

Edit: Saw now that with template worked, glad to hear that! However, It may be that not having a "war-config" zone breaks the whole units configuration, I will fix it in a 0.5b hotfix soon!

Hey man yeah all working now ive been playing around with my mission all is cool, i have a couple questions though,

1) When using zone targets It shows MGRS, and LAT/LONG in degrees and decimal minutes, is it possible to have degrees, minutes, and seconds?? (Or choose between them?)
2) Is it possible to delay activation of a new warzone either by condition, flag or other?
3) Is it possible to have radio report toggled off at start 🙂
4) Is it posible to totally disable some aspects such as, Jtac, Economy, AWACS bearings?
(I disabled as default from showing on start i just wonder for some missions wouldn't need some of the features at all)

Hope these arent obvious dumb questions 😄

regards

HI @shinobi61, I will answer your questions below:

  1. I will create a F10 radio option and a default "war-config" property for mission to set coordinates format. It will be saved as client group selection with persistency enabled. I noticed myself that some aircrafts just don't like decimals minutes 😅
  2. I might add this in a later release, it surely is interesting! However, WARZONES has persistency in mind, so once it is activated during a round, in the next rounds it will start off as active. I will give you two new config properties specific for each zone, one will be the number of flag that activates them and one will be the flag number that the zone activates when it is conquered or when there are no more units to spawn (this will likely create a zones chain of activation).
  3. It will be disabled in next rounds with persistency enabled if you jump in the same client group and disabled them in previous rounds with the "Toggle radio reports" F10 option. But i think I will add a new war-config property to disable reports at start
  4. You can disable them with zone-specific or war-config properties "jtac", "tgt_coord", "ground_coord" and "awacs_coord" set to "0". It will still be possible to enable them via purchases, but you can set their price to virtually "infinite" with Money related properties and economic mode enabled. I think they are quite "hidden from view" being in a dedicated submenu, so I don't think I will disable them completely, but if that really bothers you, I might do that in a future release.

Hope this helps you out!

Hi @shinobi61, noticed that too in Batumi or Kobuleti, can't  remember rn. Unfortunately there's nothing I can do about it, I think it's a problem of parking placing when airbase is crowded, but this should be handled by DCS itself. Can you share a track with me? Thank you

@Pantera93 Hi mate, im making one large complex mission at the moment for learning perposes using your stuff and DML its very cool using them together, but when i get time ill try get a track because i notice these AI crashes near the begining of missions i think mostly, i guess its a work around to just put Air start for now. I dont know why they crash but i saw even two sabres crashed near the runway when they were the only ones at the airfield. Sometimes DCS AI is so janky 😄

Fingers crossed for you being able to make Zones come online after certain conditions are met or after certain zone is conqured 🙂
