Umm...OK, this is a strange one.

First off...I have NOT screwed around with modifying the LUA files in any manner.

Second...this error started to appear after my first mission (created by me via the editor).

I played the mission...got hit by the Shilka  and then belly flopped not too far away from the convoy I was supposed to nail. OK, cool. I clicked on the Quit button on the pop-up screen and then the error popped up.

Hmmm... Proceeded to click the OK in the error window and shrugged it off.

I then proceeded to double-click on the game icon on the desktop...game appears to start up normally and then...:noexpression:...the error pops up again. Please see the attached screen capture.

Any ideas folks?

what file is causing the problem exactly ? I could send you a copy of mine if needed if you think that will solve the problem, fail in that, if nobody knows about your error and it hasnt been seen before or isnt a known bug then I think the answer to your problem maybe to either replace the file thats causing the popup error or more likely reinstall the game, unless of course someone comes along with a fix or a known temp workaround til a proper solution becomes available.

I know their was some fix for something or another where you could delete certain files and they would regenerate when the game restarted and that would solve errors with particular files, I honestly couldnt say if that would apply in your case but I hope its just something simple like a new overwrite of the file or delteing it and restarting the game.

If you want or a replacement for the file let me know in this thread and i will send you my version, aslong as its for the english version of BS.

Sure, go ahead and post the file me_airplane.lua

The full path is in the error message posted - appears to be under \Blackshark\modules\...something else.

Let's see whether replacing the file fixes the problem. As of yet, I have not been able to restart DCS:BS

Here ya go, its in zip format as the forum software wont allow .lua extension files to be uploaded, Zip works ok, so I zipped her up and you shouldnt have any problems with it.

Hope this works for you.

Let us know either way if it does or doesnt work.

See attached file below, if you have problems with downloading or with the zip file, then I can either send the original file aka non zip version to you in an email or host it on my server, just let me know and I will sort out something pretty quick.

Hey, thanks a million dude.

The issue got resolved with an uninstall/reinstall as recommended by a different forum members. I will still keep this file handy just in case it pops up again, because I would like to see whether its a specific file issue or what-not.

Ah, the joys of a new flight sim...LOL

Glad its working for you now :) TBH I had a feeling that an reinstall would be the answer, I dont think the file I uploaded would of helped much going by what others who have had a file error similar to yours and got a replacement from someone only for the same problem to still exist and only a uninstall/reinstall solved their problems.

Its working now and thats the main thing :)

Sounds familiar..

That is to say I had BS installed..

Everything was working fine..

I played back a few track files..

Even went online and flew a few missions..

Than I made the mistake of playing with some of the view options in the BS options gui..

After which the game would do this..

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=37602

So here is another case..

Where someone was simply making use of the BS in-game options..

In your case the mission editor in my case the different view options..

And the BS game corrupted itself to the point it would no longer work right!

In that even after I switch back to my old settings the problem did not go away..

I had to do an clean install for the problem to go away!

And each time I make changes to my options via the BS gui..

I cross my fingers! ;)

Very interesting. I messed around with the editor and have not been able to reproduce the error - yet. But I DO seem to recall altering the default blue vs red composition. The default is Russia vs everybody on the planet... I altered it to be Russia vs Georgia and Insurgents. That was the ONLY thing that I changed, except for maybe the standard weather, etc. but nothing out of the norm.

Since I do not know what the 'me_airplane.lua' does I have no idea what would cause it to get corrupted.

So...I just hope that the eventual patch prevents this from happening in the future. :music_whistling:
