Arthur-A Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 (edited) I'd been flying in VR from 2017 till 2020 in other games (had Rift CV1 and Odyssey), but I lost interest. Now, with WWII content in DCS growing, I'm thinking of getting back into VR. However, I'm a bit concerned about my PC, whether it will handle it. Currently I have: i5-12600K EVGA RTX 3080 XC3 32GB RAM 32OOMHz M.2 SSD 2TB I'm thinking of getting an HP Reverb G2 and running DCS at the headset's native resolution, without supersampling. I'm playing in SP, mostly WWII campaigns by Reflected. Will the PC able to maintain 45 HZ with reprojection? Edited March 31, 2023 by Arthur-A
Chronichurdle Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 Thats a solid build, and it looks like you could get good enough performance. Especially with the MT version of DCS. I can do 20-30 FPS with an I5-8600K, RX580, 32gb and SSD.
Flummi Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 Yes with the new MT version you are easily able to reach 45 FPS. I am getting these frames easily too with my system. PC: Intel Core i7-12700K| Gigabyte Z690 Gaming X DDR4| 2x 32GB DDR4 Kingston Fury Beast (KF436C18BBAK2/64)| XFX Mercury Radeon RX 9070 XT OC Gaming Edition| 4x SSD-Drive| 3x HDD-Drive| Cougar Panzer Max| custom water cooling| Artix Linux| Windows 11 Gear: Meta Quest 3| Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS| MFG Crosswind v2
edmuss Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 Yup you should be able to happily run a G2 at decent resolution as long as you're happy to use reprojection. Note that currently WMR openxr reprojection (for the G2) currently does suffer from increased artifacting, however an upcoming runtime update should go someway to alleviate the issues Ryzen7 7800X3D / RTX3080ti / 64GB DDR5 4800 / Varjo Aero / Leap Motion / Kinect Headtracking TM 28" Warthog Deltasim Hotas / DIY Pendular Rudders / DIY Cyclic Maglock Trimmer / DIY Abris / TM TX 599 evo wheel / TM T3PA pro / DIY 7+1+Sequential Shifter / DIY Handbrake / Cobra Clubman Seat Shoehorned into a 43" x 43" cupboard.
