Essentially the F2 spectator mode, but with F1-like cockpit view of that aircraft - without the ability to interact with any instruments of course.

And allow everyone to witness all my clumsiness?! No thank you! 🤨

Just kiddin' 😉

This would indeed be a nice feature.

It has been wished for many times before. I can imagine this especially to be very helpful for friends to help each other out in learning systems. Like: "get into my cockpit and I'll show you how to setup that JDAM". Or the other way around: "I'm in your cockpit now, show me what you are trying to do".

Perhaps though, there is some sort of limitation that prevents something like this to be possible. Maybe it would cause performance issues?

System specs:

i7-8700K @stock speed - GTX 1080TI @ stock speed - AsRock Extreme4 Z370 - 32GB DDR4 @3GHz- 500GB SSD - 2TB nvme - 650W PSU

HP Reverb G1 v2 - Saitek Pro pedals - TM Warthog HOTAS - TM F/A-18 Grip - TM Cougar HOTAS (NN-Dan mod) & (throttle standalone mod) - VIRPIL VPC Rotor TCS Plus with ALPHA-L grip - Pointctrl & aux banks <-- must have for VR users!! - Andre's SimShaker Jetpad - Fully adjustable DIY playseat - VA+VAICOM - Realsimulator FSSB-R3

Yes, in a limited way: if the other person is watching via discord (i.e. VR is straight out), is content to look exactly the same direction as the pilot, both have enough bandwidth, and you limit this to two people (i.e. the 'instructor' doesn't have to jump between multiple people). When more people watch, it's called streaming 🙂

If, for example, you were flying with a group, and one person wanted to just jump into the other pilot's cockpit to take a look at something, it would be a nice feature. Before this can be done, though, there would be some security concerns to solve, and the person who allows you on board must give consent. Also, people will surely scream 'cheat!!!!one' at possible exploits, so there will be demand to make this a server option.

But I think it would be a good feature. Of course, I'd prefer 'instructor' mode where one player could not only sit in another player's cockpit, but also take over control, but let's keep our wishes small.

I was maybe going to try and coach someone in DCS this way. But they’ve probably given up by now 😆

You could maybe share a screen with Zoom or something like that I imagine.
