Hi,

I’ve been stuck in that campaign on mission 7 due to the mission not progressing. Appreciate the fact that that’s been fixed. However, my career progression has been erased and I’d need to restart from mission 1. Any suggestions?

thanks

The mission progress is remembered with some simple text file in your user files. Play one mission and you can find it and see how it looks like.

You can now manually create the corresponding entries for the other missions in the file, as if you would have flown them, by just following the style of the other entry.

If done right, DCS would pick up the faked progress and lets you start at the desired mission.

(Dont have details at hand now, on mobile)

So I tried to edit the log file. In game I get a message that Heatblur has changed the campaign and my progress has been reset. So editing the log file doesn’t help.  So the only way to continue seems to be reverting to previous versions of DCS or skipping the missions. None of those feels right 😕

Editing the logbook file will definitely work, you just have to put the right content. Did that multiple times in the past already to skip missions with bugs.

It will look something like this:

You essentially just have to fake those entries, with the correct mission name, some fake date and result = 100 (success).

Might be possible that you cant reuse ur old campaign entries. Make a backup of the file and then reset ur progress, play the first mission (just crash immediately) and then look at the file again. That should give you a good start for editing.

Thank you. Yes I did that, the mission name has changed and that’s why my progress wasn’t showing up. So I copied the rest of the entries from the old log file under the new mission name. Not sure why copy and pasting wouldn’t work. But when I did that, in game I got a message that I lost my progress due to some changes and so my progress wasn’t showing up. Maybe next I’ll try entry by entry

Edit: thank you guys, I was able to edit to log file after all. The issue was the mission name as it used to contain an ‘SC’ that is now gone. Once I removed the SC from the name of the missions, my progress was recovered.
