Marsvinet Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 For the CH-47, I have some "very serious" suggestions of possible slingload cargoes that can be added: T-Rex and UFO ED pretty please? Okay, mostly a joke. And I know both of those are Sea knights and not Chinooks. But I am going make liveries for the Chinook in the same pattern because it is the best camouflage. 5
Razorback Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 That's what we need with the Chinook...and not only... It could be cool to have this possibility from the Mi-8 and the UH-1 Fast roping ! 10 1

Razorback Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 (edited) Honestly, this possibility would become a real « game changer » for the transport helicopter in DCS. It’s good to have some crew animations (like the crew climbing in the Apache) but it’s just a nice visual one. On the other hand if the fast-roping animation is developped, it could offer a real add-on for the game and in the missions… Edited April 23, 2023 by Razorback
corbu1 Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 Yes, this feature really should be avaible for transport helicopters in DCS. Pasquale1986 Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 Since the Chinook will not be a weapons platform, i am pretty sure, ED will develop a dedicated cargo system - it's needed for the C-130 as well. I don't think it's a coincidence, that both modules are being developed parallel. Main Module: AH-64D Personal Wishlist: HH-60G, F-117A, B-52H

Yup, I'm really hoping for a built in weight simulation, instead of using my own janky scripts to simulate troops disembarking. Combine that with animated troops exiting and all cargo modules would be golden. 6

The possibility for them to implement new animations for troops on the ground, crews around aircraft (I would love for them to be able to add animated maintenance and loaders, just for a little life around airbases). But also having crew in the rear of helicopters and letting you see and pickup downed airmen or drop off soldiers from a fast rope out of the back. There's so much awesome potential there, and I'm looking forward to seeing how they handle it. 1
Gambit21 Posted April 22, 2024 Posted April 22, 2024 Yes...appropriate toys for the sandbox. Looking forward too seeing what new mechanics ED introduces here. 1

Reality is of course an increased workload for the ED staff, delaying the fixes we seek already. The 'ground' is very basic in DCS, so even long requested Full Fidelity ground vehicles (like the Abrams) would require a massive investment in developing the ground physics, and presumably incur a noticeable hit to our FPS. Love the idea though.

Love the idea though. I think before this highly complicated physics we may need multithreading for the server and Vulcan api
