eatthis Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 i found the hud filter control in controls but cant find the vdi filter, is it in there or not? 7700k @5ghz, 32gb 3200mhz ram, 2080ti, nvme drives, valve index vr
scommander2 Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 The VDI has a night filter that can be installed by clicking in the middle of the VDI screen. https://heatblur.se/F-14Manual/cockpit.html?highlight=night#vertical-display-indicator-vdi Spoiler Dell XPS 9730, i9-13900H, DDR5 64GB, Discrete GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080, 1+2TB M.2 SSD | Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + TPR | TKIR5/TrackClipPro | Total Controls Multi-Function Button Box | Win 11 Pro
WarthogOsl Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 To clarify "installed", the VDI was dimmed by literally taping a transparent piece of red plastic over the screen. That's where there's no switch to bind.
eatthis Posted April 20, 2023 Author Posted April 20, 2023 yeh i know both of those, theres no bind then? 7700k @5ghz, 32gb 3200mhz ram, 2080ti, nvme drives, valve index vr

Similar to there be no bind to remove the HUD camera, I guess. Maybe someday? It's been mentioned in the bind request thread, but I'm not sure there was ever an answer from HB.

You will need to add it manually by editing the default.lua file (Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\F14\Input\F-14B-Pilot\keyboard), simply add the following line : {down = device_commands.VDIG_VDI_filter, cockpit_device_id=devices.VDI, value_down = 1, name = _('VDI Filter Toggle'), category = _('Additional Keybinds')}, Furthermore, if you wish to add other keybindings that are not currently present, you can search for them in the clickabledata.lua file located at Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\F14\Input\F-14B-Pilot\Cockpit. After locating the desired keybinding, add it to the default.lua file while respecting the correct format. If there is an update, you'll need to repeat the same process all over again, that's why i recommend saving a copy of the "default.lua" file in another place once you are done with the editing, or use a mod manager like Ovgme. 1

That's where there's no switch to bind. It actually snapped in. It sat in that recess you can see along the perimeter of the screen, and had a clip that snapped onto that horizontal bar at the bottom. 1 Former USN Avionics Tech VF-41 86-90, 93-95 VF-101 90-93 Heatblur Tomcat SME I9-9900K | Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Ultra | 32GB DDR4 3200 | Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe | RTX 2070 Super | TM Throttle | VPC Warbird Base TM F-18 Stick

We should have binds for all things pilot can do in the cockpit, not only switches, buttons, dials, etc. because even if we have full pit, the system has to know somehow that we have installed that filter. Despayre Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Problem solved. 1 I'm not updating this anymore. It's safe to assume I have all the stuff, and the stuff for the stuff too.

Maybe? I'm just assuming that's why they haven't provided a bind. We don't have a bind for removing the HUD camera either.
