no communication???

hi my friend, i have a problem... wene i hit (\) for communications i dont have no tower or maintenance do someone know how can fix that

Did you start engines? switch ON generators? radiocommunication system? intercom position? frequency? etc. etc. etc.

Also, if your radio system is all powered up, make sure that wherever you are landed has a Tower and maintainence vehicles to answer you!

 

At a FARP, you will need a command vehicle for tower radio comms, a re-arming truck for weps, and a refuelling truck for fuel. (see GUI manual for exact details).

 

Airfields have all of these by default.

Do you get radio menu after pressing "\"? If no, what keyboard are you using? Some non-US keyboards have very specific layouts, so some key responses can be messed up (you press "\", but game may detect it as different key).

On a UK keyboard I have to press the "#" key whereas the "\" key serves no purpose from what I am able to tell.

whene i press \ i see the menu and 1 push f6 for tower or f-10 i give the command but i dont have answear!!!

possible solution:

 

if you talk to the tower, i think you have to ask in the correct order.

eg before asking takeoff you have to ask roll permission.

if i simply ask 'request control hover' i don't get a answer to 'request takeoff' either.

 

before talking to Maintenance you have to do some switching on the Radio Intercom Control Panel. Put the Intercom Source Selector to the rightmost position (Ground crew intercom).

Described in the Flight Manuel pg 2-102.

 

ps don't forget to reset this switch to VHF-2 (leftmost) to talk to tower or wingmen

@ntonis, we can suppose a thousand things. For example, you asked ground maintenancy during flight. Or not correct position of intercom switch. Or engines don't stopped. Or left door is not opened. Or you located not at airfield.

Most common issue is different makes of keyboard. Go to options, controls menu. Look up radio communications. go to clear, and then add and press / and the software should recognise command.
