Mission 2 - can’t contact whiplash

When approaching wp6 I have my radio tuned to the right frequency, I get the reminder to check in with Whiplash but the f10 menu doesn’t give me any options

Hi I've just checked the mission and everything still working as it should, only variable in the triggers here is your radio setting so just double check your settings (Ch 1 on FM radio).

I am having the exact same issue, tried this mission twice (2nd time following a youtube video guide), quadruple checked my radio and still not getting the option to chick in with whiplash on F10.

 

Did you manage to resolve the issue? I have now wasted A lot of time on this mission and don't really want to invest more if the other missions will have similar issues.

Figured it out right after posting, you have to have the left hand knob on the radio to 'MAN' not 'FM'.

I tried this task twice (the second time using a YouTube video guidance), checked my radio four times, and am still unable to choose to chick in with whiplash on F10.  drift boss

Can you post a shot of your radio panel please so I can double check your settings and offer some guidance?  From experience this issue is always the radio being set incorrectly (it's the only variable in play).

I did this mission today and had no issues. All radios set to PRE(SET), not MAN.

Hi! I'm coming back for some Persian Freedom action after almost 2 years, love the campaign! However, I've been experiencing the same, Mission 2 near WP 6, don't have the option to contact Whiplash, same happens in Mission 6 when the prompt to press space bar appears after making sure we are set to receive and transmit to Whiplash (haven't tried missions in order this time, as I'm replaying some missions). I have tried VHF in preset, channel 1, also in manual, freq 51.5 and in FM 51.5.

The A10s FM radio has been broken in the latest update I'm afraid, already reported to ED. No workaround unfortunately so it's a case of either wait for ED to fix it or  rollback the update

Hi, thank you! I had no idea; I hadn't flown the Hog in a while. Well, in the meantime I'll continue with Steep's journey in Cerberus north, great stuff as always! Can't wait for Freedom´s Legacy!

I've submitted a temporary fix to all Persian Freedom missions while we wait for the radio to be fixed.  It's not how I ideally want the missions to be but should keep things working for now.  I'll swap the missions out again to the original versions when the issue is fixed.

Thank you! Is not fair for you to be doing extra work due to a broken update, you have already created an amazing campaign! I tried the second mission again and still no go, have those changes been uploaded? I deleted the campaign and downloaded it again but still can't progress, only tried mission 2 however. Anyway, thanks a lot! Sorry for the trouble

No it will be in the next update, there should be a campaign focused patch very soon.

The Persian Freedom fix is in today's hot fix.  I had to remove the trigger that detects the FM radio frequency to bypass the broken trigger condition so this means the safeguard against being on the wrong freq has been removed, therefore you'll need to be careful to stay on the correct freq or else you might miss comms.  Also please be aware I had to manually search through every trigger line in the campaign to find and remove the trigger condition - I can't promise I didn't miss one so please let me know if you find any point in a mission that still seems broken so I can check asap.  Last of all the fix only applies to the A-10C II version.
