13sq*Axe Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 These lights are controlled by turning the knob on the lower dash but can you move or redirect them? Speaking of the front two. I usually turn them off anyway. I assume the control is for both in the front? Does it also control the two in the back? By the trims and radio? Thanks in advance. Ala13_ManOWar Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 Never tried but I don't think so. P-51's been updated several times, but it's still a 2012 module and those fancy details weren't a thing back then. 1 "I went into the British Army believing that if you want peace you must prepare for war. grafspee Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 (edited) Those are ultraviolet lamps which energize luminescent material on gauges so they become visible at night You have separate knobs for left and right lamp. This luminescent material has slow reaction time it takes time to reach full brightens and vice-versa. I'm not sure they're. Anyhow, I believe neither are movable, perhaps in 109 and 190 they are, but not sure about that. P-51 lamps weren't movable last time I tried. 13sq*Axe Posted April 26, 2023 Author Posted April 26, 2023 Thx for the replies folks. Yep no need to move them just curious. As a newbie to DCS I'm pretty amazed at the detail in the cockpits. 1 Rig Specs, i5-12600K, Asus Tuf Gaming Z690 Plus MB, 64 GB Kingston Vengeance Beast ram, Asus RTX 4070 OC, Samsung 980 Pro M.2 1 TB NVme SSD Drive, EVGA 750 Watt PS. I believe Mosquito ones were movable? The point is lighting whatever you want to light mate, just that as IRL. Not sure either, perhaps I'm mistaking the recent movable mirrors or lights, but I thought there was something new lately about that. Not all modules of course. 21 hours ago, 13sq*Axe said: Thx for the replies folks. Yep no need to move them just curious. As a newbie to DCS I'm pretty amazed at the detail in the cockpits. Yep, there are nice things there even though whenever one's flying all that fancy stuff remains in a second stage. But it's cool the attention to detail they paid. Like i said, all gauges in P-51 are illuminated evenly, in modern modules this illumination pattern may be modeled more precisely .
