F99th-Rusk Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 Looking for some insight. Our squad regularly has 6+ aircraft and not having much luck being able to get both forward catapults under tension for a 1/3, 2/4 launch (Supercarrier). I did a search but didn't get results on the forums. Are we still waiting for a supercarrier fix or is it considered a HB issue? I figured I start here before getting sent here anyway. Basically as soon as catapult one or two is hooked up it disables the other.
DD_Fenrir Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 Unfortunately this is longstanding issue. Current thought seems to place this under EDs bailiwick as it's an issue with the carrier itself and current hypothesis is that somewhere in the coding is a restriction on putting two 'large' aircraft next to each other on Cats 1 &2 to avoid collisions. It seems that the Tomcat is being recognised as a 'large' aircraft and thus enables this restriction. So some line of code needs to be tweaked somewhere to adjust these parameters to allow the F-14s to hook-up side by side on the two forward Cats. Best to nag ED about it. 1
IronMike Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 Unfortunately DCS side, indeed, and nothing we can do about. Feel free to report to ED, please. F99th-Rusk Posted May 10, 2023 Author Posted May 10, 2023 Thanks. That's my recollection but I wanted to start here and confirm before I head there. 1
