morsmortis Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Not sure if anyone has mentioned this before, but after watching all of the youtube videos with Black Shark cockpits (RL), it seems as if altitude and air speed for the sim are reported at a faster response time than RL. I understand there are probably different software versions out there in RL, but I haven't see any Russian hud systems that updated flight data at such a fast rate (for any aircraft). It usually seems to update every half second. (200-500ms) maybe?
GGTharos Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 The HUD was upgraded :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
haigotron Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 The HUD was upgraded :) do you mean in RL and then that's what we have ingame? or for purposes of the game, it was a design choice to "upgrade" the HUD? :D
GGTharos Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 It was upgraded in RL. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
skypirate Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Oh come on... we don't have FLIR and RWR now you want to downgrade the HUD  [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]Regards!
Force_Feedback Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 The current HUD software updates it at 24 fps, was 18 or so before. Still nice they can write new software for that eighties junk. P.S., which damage value corresponds to the APU (what part of the model, front, rear fuselage?) ? I'm fed up with blowing up from an apu fire, even when the thing is not running. AlphaOneSix Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 "APU Fire" means that the fire was detected in the APU compartment, it doesn't necessarily mean it's your APU that's on fire. There is a picture in the flight manual showing the location of the APU (page 1-3, it's the round glowing exhaust).
ARM505 Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 If you manage to break your chopper in half, you'll see the APU sitting there. Seriously!
