Inf Posted May 12, 2023 Posted May 12, 2023 I feel like destroyed vehicles should catch fire and burn for a lot longer. Understand that it's probably for performance reasons, but being able to easily spot where stuff's going down is useful, and also good for immersion. Thoughts? 13
Minhal Posted May 12, 2023 Posted May 12, 2023 Totally agree. For what i found, vehicles easily burn an hour if not extinguished. Having smoke plumes so quickly disappear messes with situational awareness and is unrealistic. Have not observed any meaningful performance hit with smoke, so i do not see an issue with having things burn for an hour give or take. 3

Exorcet Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 More and perhaps randomized burn times sound nice. 4 Awaiting: DCS F-15C Win 10 i5-9600KF 4.6 GHz 64 GB RAM RTX2080Ti 11GB -- Win 7 64 i5-6600K 3.6 GHz 32 GB RAM GTX970 4GB -- A-10C, F-5E, Su-27, F-15C, F-14B, F-16C missions in User Files
dresoccer4 Posted May 23, 2024 Posted May 23, 2024 old post but I'm also looking to be able to adjust how long vehicles burn in order to make it more realiistic. check out the file "...\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bazar\ParticleEffects\effects\FireVehicle.lua" and mess with the settings in there, I think you can increase burn time. however I'm hoping someone else can chime in with better facts Acer Predator Triton 700 || i7-7700HQ || 512GB SSD || 32GB RAM || GTX1080 Max-Q || FFB II and Thrustmaster TWCS Throttle || All DCS Modules
