Flying without the Generator?

I noticed I can fly a long flight when forgetting to turn on the generator. My Amps are at zero the whole flight but no troubles. Is that normal?

not much draining power, engine runs of magneto's, you can even turn off the main power switch and still fly.

try turning on the lights, landing light... ect. you will see amp draw.
