While not strictly a VR issue, I hope you dont mind me posting this here as hopefully some Meta users might be able to shed some light on the issue for me. Here is the text of my post on the Meta support forums, which details my issue: 

I am a new Quest pro user. I dont have a facebook or instagram account. On first set up, I created a meta / Oculus account ( I am not sure which, being unaware these were 2 separate things ) 2 weeks into ownership, I started getting issues with the headset freezing. In the process of fault finding and trouble shooting, I upgraded software to V55 and did a factory re set. On trying to log in again to Oculus and the phone app, I got error message saying my email / password were wrong. I tried re setting but then was not getting emails to teh address i used to do this. Eventually, I decided to make a whole new account and tried that, with a complete new email.

So, I used my new account details to log in and all was good. However, I was still getting the freezes. To rule in / out hardware problems being my PC or the headset, I decided to install Oculus on my backup PC and try the headset there to see if it still froze. If it did, I would know the unit was likely faulty.

However, my problems with log in's then started again. Using the exact same brand new account details I had used yesterday to log in after the factory re set, I am getting the "wrong email / password" error message again. 

I used the "forgotten password " option and the email address of my original account. No email has been received though.....I tried again using the new email address from the new account I created yesterday...again, no email has been received....

How do I get out of this ridiculous loop of not being able to log in or re set my passwords? And can someone explain how / why there are 2 differing account types, what may be going on , why and how to sort it out? 

I imagine it is completely unlikely that I will be able to speak to some in person and try and sort it, yes? Is that even a thing with meta? The support is all based around NOT interacting with real people and using chat bots, so something like this will be fairly tricky......

I guess you just have to wait. Had the same issue with just logging into the Meta VR forum a few days ago (to look something up about the Rift-S).
At first i could log in without a problem but a bit later when returning i got a login error. Later i could log in again only to stumble up on the same problem the next day.
Same goes for the reset mail (which you should not use because the error is on their side), sometimes it's delivered a few seconds later, sometimes not at all.
(The same happened to me trying to log into my Steam account when setting up the Pico, they send a verification code which then never gets delivered and doesn't end up in the spam either. And without the code you can't log in.... Loop di loop...

I have had zero answers to my post on the Meta forums and a perusal of them shows scores of unanswered and unsolved issues. I think, basically, if it does not work for some reason, there is zero chance of anyone from meta helping you out. 

By way of an update to my ongoing issues, I logged out of my Quest app on my phone and when I log back in, it needs to pair to my headset again....however, the app asks for a 5 digit code that never appears on the headset.

So now, I cant pair the headset with the app. This means I cannot do a factory re set etc.......

It still works, which is something at least, however, I cant believe how such a big company can have such an obviously troublesome system and also a support system that is completely useless.

Factory reset should be possible without app.

"... follow these steps:

-Press both the power button and volume down buttons at the same time
-Hold them and wait until you see a screen with various options on it (this doesn't look like the standard Quest Pro view)
-Then release the buttons
-Use the volume buttons to move up and down through the various options in the menu
-Highlight the option to factory reset and then press the power button to choose it
-You'll then need to agree to reset the headset and that will kick the process off"
