Nealius Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 Coming from Navy jets where they're particular about when and what lights to use, I'm unfamiliar with how Mudhens (or the USAF in general) does things. I'm sure there's a bit of "it depends" based on squadron/airbase, but in typical usage, what's the external light procedure in day and night scenarios?
ravencio Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 I was wondering the same thing. Seen a youtube video of SE operating from RAF Lakenheath and seems they use steady position lights and anti-col lights ON during ground operations. If anyone can bring more light into the topic... 1
Rainmaker Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 Any time you have ant-ks on, pos lights will be full bright. That and formation lights would be typical night ops in friendly skies. Take away form lights for day flying. In a threat environment, just depends. 1
Nealius Posted June 27, 2023 Author Posted June 27, 2023 (edited) Is it normal, then, for the anti-smash lights switch to automatically set wintip pos lights to max even if the pos lights knob is set to OFF? I've been trying to get the lights dimmer because the DCS rendering engine makes the lights look like giant plasma orbs in broad daylight. Edited June 27, 2023 by Nealius
