wowbagger Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 The VPC kneeboard works in every other plane, but for some reason has stopped working in the Tomcat for me. It just shows a dark grey blank page. Things I have tried: - remove all mods - full repair with remove extra files (twice) - reset lua - reinstall Vaicom Pro completely (including deleting all it's files in Saved Games and in DCS install) - reset install location in registry using Vaicom control panel - delete other kneeboard images from the Tomcat folder - delete the weird scripts folder that Vaicom creates in c:/ I still get this: I'm out of ideas and going to give up, but I wanted to make sure it's working for everyone else ... just to add to my sense of frustration. no sig
MAXsenna Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 Try an older version of VAICOM. Just replace the DLL. Reinstallation will never help you as VAICOM contains all settings "in itself".The devs are trying to find out how to disable the kneeboard as an option. Might be that.I tried the latest 2.8.3.3, worked for me.Cheers! Sent from my MAR-LX1A using Tapatalk
wowbagger Posted June 27, 2023 Author Posted June 27, 2023 Thanks man! I got it figured out. There was a workaround for the Jester wheel being disabled with AirRio activated. It involved simply locking 3 files as read only. This seems to have been broken by the newest 2.8.3.3. However since the files were read only, it wasn't picked up by a full repair with remove extra files ... I guess. Hate not having the Jester wheel. Hollywood seemed to say it was a design decision, rather than a technical limitation (wrong choice in my opinion). I hope the brilliant peeps in the community development can figure out a way to make it optional. cheers 1 no sig
MAXsenna Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 That's great!Yes, I believe it was a design decision as you can see the Jester Wheel for a fraction when issuing a command. I guess that's why he implemented his own version and hints.Cheers! Sent from my MAR-LX1A using Tapatalk 1

To quote: "- AIRIO and the menu wheel are mutually exclusive for technical reasons. The AIRIO extension provides dynamic on-screen feedback using the hint functions and kneeboards are available to familiarize with the keywords while learning to use. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3871629&postcount=2203..." He subsequently made some reference to the wheel possibly coming back at some point, so maybe there is a way... 2 Modules: [A-10C] [AJS 37] [AV8B N/A] [F-5E] [F-14] [F-15E] [F-16] [F/A-18C] [FC3] [Ka-50] [M-2000C] [Mig-21 bis] [Afghanistan] [Cold War: Germany] [Iraq] [Kola] [NTTR] [PG] [SC] Intel i9-14900KF, Nvidia GTX 4080, Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Master X 64GB DDR5 @ 6400 MHz, SteelSeries Apex Pro, Asus ROG Gladius 3, VKB Gunfighter 3 w/ F-14 grip, VKB STECS throttle, Thrustmaster MFD Cougars x2, MFG Crosswind, DSD Flight Series button controller, XK-24, Meta Quest 3
