Hi there

Can you show how do you attached the Ultraleap in your HP Reverb G2?

I have the same VR and a I found the Ultraleap v2 here in Brazil, but have only the device and the cable.

Best regards.

I mounted mine with hot melt glue and a GoPro / action camera mount. I glued the mount to the case I got with the Ultraleap, but you could glue it directly to the unit itself or use some 3M double-sided tape.

Yes, I printed in 3d one of this two mounts, can´t remember wich one, but meantime I used a two stripes of velcro, works more or less good till the faceplate warms up and sometimes the glue doesn't do his job well

Thank you. I'll purchase the Ultraleap Leap Motion Controller 2 as soon as possible.

I expect that it works properly like I saw in the YouTube videos. It looks very imersive.

Best regards.

It works fine (more or less) with all the eagle dinamics clickcable cockpits, but you must hace enough space bwtween your desk and your seat, for me is not useful because I have not a cockpit, I have my hotas attached to my desktop, so wen I try to reach buttons, my hands colides always with my desk or my monitor 🤣

Tracking seems to be fine, but the finger-to-button/switch interaction is unusable.

I've had a similar experience until recently.  I don't know if anything happened with the updates but my hand tracking clicking works decently now.  The thing I run into right now is how to manipulate dials.  There doesn't seem to be a clear guide on gestures to say turn the COM 1 dial down in the F16 Viper, or change the Chaff/Flare Mode to Auto.  Straight buttons and switches seem to work pretty well.  I also don't see a way to "Live" tune the location of the tracking so that it's exactly where you need it to be.  Overall I have been pretty satisfied with it, but I am adding some IR emitters to my rig soon to try and extend the range and light those hard to reach places for my hands.

Haha yesss I ran into this issue, and I had to build a "rig" with nothing in front of me.  My HOTAS is still in the way for just a couple buttons now, but muuuuch better if you can get yourself free and in the open.

Interested to see your experience!  I've enjoyed it.  I just wish we had a play-space to practice in and fine tune it in DCS.

Yes, All I said is VR oriented, so you must mount your device on your headset, I recomend you a printable headset mount, depending of your device (oldest or newst v2) and of course it should be a little oriented to desktop...This is mine, curved for HP reverb G2.

You can find lots of models at Thingiverse

I have one of these for the Ultraleap 2 that I made for my Pimax Crystal Light that I can send a file for if anyone wants it.

Just got a Leap Motion 2 and wanted to share my experience.

It's awesome and elevates the VR-experience to a new level. Being able to let go of the stick and simply reach for buttons, especially UFC and MFD, is incredibly immersive and actually usable! Most things you need during combat can be accessed easily and without a hassle. Reaching switches that are on the sides is more difficult and depends on your setup and how obstructed the view is. Things on the front like the MFDs and UFC work like a charm!

Unforunately it cannot fully replace a mouse. While buttons and switches are okay-ish, rotaries are an effing nightmare! It's impossible to get rotaries to move the way you want. Who the hell developed that implementation and thought that was anywhere near acceptable? Go play some VTOLVR and check out how they solved interaction with switches and rotaries in VR, it's a night and day difference!

Does anyone know if Eagle Dynamics has any plans to improve hand tracking or VR interaction in general? Is there a place where I can make suggestions for a better implementation? It hurts how poorly implemented VR interactions are. Literally any other flight-sim with VR compatibility does a better job.

Some other observations I made:

1. USB 3.0 improves tracking considerably. Tracking is real-time and very accurate

2. OpenXR (VR Tab) seems to work better than the Leap Motion plugin (Special tab)

That's where Slugmouse comes in. Use the Leap Motion Controller with HTCC to give you a hand-to-mouse cursor control and the Slugmouse to perform the mouse or joystick button clicks. It's currently on a 25% Christmas sale for £100 for a pair of Slugmice and case.
