Solution razo+r Posted July 23, 2023 Solution Posted July 23, 2023 This will only work until ED finally implements the effect of weather into the sensors...

Hi Razor Thanks for the reminder If that happens, how would F-16 Pilots, make using the GMT (ground moving target) FCR radar to lock onto a target, - what weapon would then be able to use that moving target coordinates to hone in on the target and succesfully taking out that target? Without the need for a Visual TGP targeting pod lock? Thanks Only other answer I know of is having a JTAC - gound based or drone to 'lase' the target and then dropping for example GBU 12's - provided you setup the bomb laser codes to match the JTAC laser codes - cold start - then you can fly away and JTAC laser will be used to guide the laser guided bombs? Thanks! i7-11800H @ 2.30GH | 16Gb 3200MHz | GeForce RTX 3060 | Samsung 1TB SSD | KINGSTON 520GB SSD

You will probably be too close for LGBs or the laser is too scattered to be picked up reliably, JDAMs can't follow moving targets, Mavericks are also either too close or masked, and dumb bombs are tricky. 19 minutes ago, AngryViper.101 said: Thanks Only other answer I know of is having a JTAC - gound based or drone to 'lase' the target and then dropping for example GBU 12's - provided you setup the bomb laser codes to match the JTAC laser codes - cold start - then you can fly away and JTAC laser will be used to guide the laser guided bombs? Thanks! Provided that the JTAC will be able to successfully locate the target in low visibility, the laser won't get scattered too much, the aircraft being able to pick up the laser through all the weather and the LGB able to spot the laser. So basically, no. Edit: my above reply was with rain/ heavy clouds in mind. If the weather conditions are like in your video however, LGBs could work or even Mavericks, provided you have clear LOS to the target (below cloud cover) Edited July 23, 2023 by razo+r

BUT managed to lock on a moving target and get the critter was a good feeling .. BVR ground targets 2 i7-11800H @ 2.30GH | 16Gb 3200MHz | GeForce RTX 3060 | Samsung 1TB SSD | KINGSTON 520GB SSD
