Since a few updates ago, I'm experiencing the Remote Oculus button no longer switching from DCS in Desktop. This used to ALWAYS work without exception.

The issue may also be with the Oculus nee Meta software, as that was also updated a couple times in the last weeks.

I'd firstly just like to hear if others are experiencing the same issue.

Am I the only one who every experienced this issue?

I opened a case with oculus and spent hours testing, trying and gathering log and dump files and they never gave me an answer as to what the issue is or what I can do.

It is a MAJOR issues if you cannot switch out of DCS if you have touch anything outside of DCS on your PC.

If you use a Rift CV1 and regularly use the Remote and the Oculus button to switch from DCS to the Dash board, let me at least know that it is working for you

- Always
- Nearly always
- Sometimes
- Never
- What are you jabbering about, are you on drugs?

Many thanks in advance.

Works fine (Rift-S) in both ST and MT OpenBeta versions.
Must say that i'm not on the latest Meta software, i'm still on 56.xxx and i block the update until i know there are no issues with it.

Blocking the Meta update:

Simply browse to C:\Program Files\Oculus  (or your Oculus install path)
Create a new file called Staging (with no extension)
Create a new file called tmp (also, no extension)
rename folder \Staging to bak.Staging
rename folder \tmp to bak.tmp

Many thanks for the reply, Lange_666.

I have 56.0.0.193.155. I have no idea what I had before and when changed from what to what. I'm thinking of going a complete reinstall.

idk there were a number of updates since I've noticed this issue.

And since I have this issue already, and I can either somehow go back to a previous version or press on forward, I installed the update that just arrived today and am now on 57.0.0.254.153.

I have yet to test how well switching out to Dash works, or how long it takes until it doesn't--sometimes only minutes.

Hey!

Did you ever find out what was wrong or some kind of workaround? I've had this issue for a long time as well and done multiple updates to both DCS and Oculus / Meta Quest Link and nothing has solved it. For me it works like the first time I press the button inside DCS. Then I momentarily have a lot of screen tearing and lagging inside the VR-headset, like there are some buffering issues or something, and suddenly it goes back to smooth as butter. If I now switch back to DCS the 'Oculus'-button on my right controller does nothing and it will remain unresponsive until I restart the Meta Quest Link software.

What was wrong was fixed in a update of Meta Quest software.

Beyond that, if it ever happens again, restart the headset and then your PC

  1. Go into Meta Quest
  2. Settings
  3. Beta
  4. Click on the  Restart Meta Quest Link text and the the blue button with Restart Meta Quest Link
  5. Quit Meta Quest
  6. Restart PC
  7. Try again.

Also insure that any outstanding SW and Firmware updates are completed.

That's it. I haven't had an issue in months.

Good luck to you.
