-HINDSIGHT- Posted July 28, 2023 Posted July 28, 2023 Hey guys I just finished putting together my dream sim pit and ran into a wall. I purchased 3 AORUS FO48" OLED 3840x2160 120 Hz displays. I figured how hard could this be right lol. in setting I picked 3 monitors but none of the resolutions would work with my displays. I watched the HIP games guy set up video and tried his recommendations but I found out he had triple 27" inch monitors so it worked but it was way to small for my set up. I do have a beast machine the Corsair Vengeance i8100 Intel i9-13900KS, RTX 4090, 64 GB DDR5-5600, 4TB (2x 2TB SSD). So power shouldn't be an issue just picking the correct resolution is. Any help would be awesome thanks all.
_Hoss Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 go to this site and put in your specs, it has three different searches at the top, Bottleneck, game bottleneck, and FPS, you will find DCS in a few of them, but at the bottom, there are some other search parameters too depending on what you pick at the top. https://pc-builds.com/ 1 Sempre Fortis
_Hoss Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 I think those guys are AMD fan boys at heart... switch between comparable Intel and AMD processors and look at the results. Sempre Fortis

The 4090 maxes out the bandwidth of 8k 60hz. Divide that in half and you get 4k 60hz. In other words. If you have two 4K 60HZ monitors, that's it. If you want to use a third monitor, you'll need to use a 'USB to HDMI' device or use the built-in graphics port.
-HINDSIGHT- Posted August 1, 2023 Author Posted August 1, 2023 I actually found out I was over thinking it. The resolution I needed was just 11520x2160. Silly me I have never done 3 monitors before and I actually thought the game would just recognize my monitors or something easy like that. I did notice after picking the correct resolution saving it turning and burning for a bit then logging out and logging back in. DCS will load a crazy resolution one I did not save. It loads in 11520x6480 no clue as to why but it does. I know DCS is still a work in progress so it is what it is. I'm also struggling with my winwing simapppro software will crash every time I load DCS so I haven't figured that out either. I also notice a lot of people are having issues with simapppro so I guess I will stand in line. I love the MIP just haven't gotten it to fully work yet. I being patient though it will happen lol.

xoxen Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 (edited) You have to do two things when setting up three displays. On the options page you need to insert the resolution you want DCS to work on. In your case this is 3x3840 = 11520 in width and 2160 in height. So at the point Resolution you manually write into the box 11520x2160. The second thing is to use the lua file Auntystatic sent you and put it into the correct folder mentioned in aboves post. At the point Monitors you now should see a configuration called "Hindsight" in the dropbox, which you should choose. See attached picture, which displays the correct points you need to make changes in. The lua file from Auntystatic takes care that the GUI is only displayed on the center screen. When entering the cockpit, you should get it rendered on all screens. But you will see a very zoomed in Cockpit view. I recommend to use the slider at your Warthog (if you have one) and put the zoom axis onto it. Then you can zoom out to a point which is fine for you. Originally the max zoom out is too small and also results into a bad fisheye vew on the left and right. I played around with the saturation of the slider axis and reduced it to a smaller dimension than 100% to be able to put the slider fully back and not have a mini cockpit. I put a lot of effort into figuring out the best setting for me. So if there is something not clear or not how you like it, please don´t hesitate to contact me again, I´m definitely willing to support you as I know the pain when you have something new and it does not work as expected. -HINDSIGHT- Posted August 10, 2023 Author Posted August 10, 2023 Guys thank you very much for your help I will post my success this weekend I have been working long hours during the week so I will post updates.
-HINDSIGHT- Posted August 12, 2023 Author Posted August 12, 2023 Ok I think I found the problem. Video works great its my simapp pro software adds something to my lua file. When I load back in my DCS resolution changes from 1152x2160 to 1152x2680 or something weird like that. I think it is adding the MFD's resolution to my 2160. I So I will post in the Winwing MIP page to see if anyone is running tripple screens with the WInwing MIP to see how they got around this.
xoxen Posted August 12, 2023 Posted August 12, 2023 (edited) You should consider to put the MFDs virtually below the main screens. If I'm right there is a limit in overall resolution. You should have height remaining , but width wise you are already very high. I had 3*2560, so never came that high. I will edit this post once I'm back at my PC. Edit: This is what I just found which might help. I found those pictures in the attached file, which seem to come from WinWing. Putting the displays beside of the 3 large 4k screens also end up into a very high width resolution (see hand drawn picture).
