Absolutely both at once visually stunning and the most craptacular clunky controlling game ever released. Very very silly....no depth at all. Fun on the same level as space invaders with wicked graphics. Very little of this is changed from game platforms. This is a good example of why I have always disliked them. Holds your attention for 3 - 37 seconds and then DONE!

I totally agree !!!

I have it ... its not even close to be being a sim .. I fired over 100 missles in one mission HAHA.. seriously where do you store these missiles on a SU27. But fun to just shoot some bad guys and look at some great graphics while doing it.

If we could just get 1/3 of the graphics in Lockon I would never complain.

I don't like Ace Combat 6 or Hawx really, but I was surprised to play the demo's of both and found Ace Combat MUCH better than HAWX (smoother gameplay) which is strange cause I thought HAWX would be like Ghost Recon (ish) so at least SEMI simulation (not 150 missles per aircraft)

The graphics in hawx are decent, but the terrain is nowhere near as large as LOMAC or Black Shark...you can only really fly in one direction for 6-10minutes before it forces you to turn back "leaving designated airspace". Games like FSX can literally fly from Tokyo to NYC in real time which is an unbelievable in terms of data.

Anyway, no offense to anyone who enjoys HAWKS or Ace. The WORST I think for me was playing online. It's absolutely rediculous...UFO's firing missle after missle at each other. There's absolutely ZERO tactic in air to air combat...it's literally luck of the draw to be killed or to kill.

Read that article linked from combatsim.com it sort of addresses the death of a genre (flight sims, space sims etc). Check it out if you have a sec.
