Nvidia Shadowplay shutting down when starting DCS and Nvidia Overlay opening on desktop

Hello dear pilots,

Since one month I have the problem, that I cannot use Nvidia Shadowplay in DCS anymore.

When I launch the game I get the message on the top right, that Shadowplay was shutting down and when I try to reenable it, it will 1st open the Nvidia Overlay on the dekstop instead of in the game and 2nd when I maximize DCS again it will automatically shut down Shadowplay again.

Im playing on a 5120x1440 (Screen 1) screen and I have 3 800x600 screens (Screen 4, 5 and 6) below for the MFDs so the gamewindow has a size of 5120x2040. (see displays.jpg) U can also see how a recording should look like on recording.jpg

I am flying with this setup for about 10 months and I never had issues with it. But for some reason only in DCS it stopped working since 1 month.

I assume that for some reason Nvidia wont see DCS as a fullscreen game and I also read (see below) that the DCS resolution must be the same with the screen size, but it makes no sense for me because every DCS player who has external MFDs should have this problem then... or am i wrong?

I already tried the usual stuff: reinstall the display driver, installing the newest driver, installing an older driver where i know i worked, repair DCS, deleting all mods (even when i did not change them a long time) - nothing worked.

i tried MT and ST versions.

only one thing worked: I changed the ingame resolution to match my screen resolution and I chose a MonitorSetup lua file without using my additional MFD screens.

But this cant be the solution for this...

Thank you for reading this and I appreciate your help...

Yannick

You're rendering a lot of unused space. You should stack your screens better so there's less unused space.
Probably won't solve your issue though, but OBS, (which is free), might, because then you can record the screens you want in different tracks, both video and audio.

Cheers!

You may be right but it worked like this almost a year without problems. And stacking them to one side wont lower the unused render space that much. I would say it is a preference thing.

There must be another reason why it changed from working to not working from one day to another 😕

This is a Shadow Play issue, not a DCS issue.

Have you read this thread? https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/geforce-experience/14/270970/shadowplay-automatically-turning-off/

Yeah i read this but this describes not my problem. I dont have to restart my PC to get it working again I just need to close DCS and thats it.

And I dont have any problems in other games, it is happening only in DCS.
