Avio Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 Was it just me? It seems the pitch trim has become more sensitive after latest patch, especially during slow speed flight (200+ knots).
Ramstein Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 TRIM is a PIA! I am searching for help.. ASUS Strix Z790-H, i9-13900, WartHog HOTAS and MFG Crosswind G.Skill 64 GB Ram, 2TB SSD EVGA Nvidia RTX 2080-TI (trying to hang on for a bit longer) 55" Sony OLED TV, Oculus VR

After taking off trim down until you see a steady 1G in the HUD and leave it there. If your plane still goes up/ down another click or two is needed. That should do it. 2

To amplify @WizzRD's comment: Takeoff: on nose rotation, trim pitch down a few clicks. On gear up, keep the wings level and adjust trim until the G meter reads 1.0 and/or the FPM stops moving up or down in the HUD. IT DOES NOT NEED TO BE PERFECT. Stop, just stop, and don't touch the trim again until the gear comes down. There's no point making trim perfect because changes in speed will give you some minor pitch changes anyways, so unless you plan on flying the plane hands off for 10 minutes without changing speed and without the autopilot, just leave it be. AFAIK, the autotrim system keeps G's with gear up, and keeps AOA with gear down. So with the gear down, by all means futz about with the trim all you want, but let it go after the gear comes up and you've trimmed back to 1 G. 1
Ramstein Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 I am talking about the trim while flying, not taking off or landing. It's a PIA!!!!!!! Avio Posted September 18, 2023 Author Posted September 18, 2023 I can testify, after spending many happy hours flying it, that this eagle feels like the best trimming aircraft among all. When out of trim in flight, a few touch of the trim button is all it takes to do the job. 1
