Hi All, I have a question. I've been away from DCS multiplyer for a little while. When I am buildiong missions for multiplayer or single player i tend to us the DCS.Multi Thread launcher. Not sure if Multi.Threading is in standard OpenBeta yet? Does OpenBeta have multithreading in it now? I made the mistake trying to look for a server in the DCS.MultiThread launcher but found that I needed to open the OpenBeta to find the servers I was looking for.

servers will either be Openbeta or Release version of DCS

As a client you have the choice of running OpenBeta or Release and also for each of the builds MT or non MT versions (MT or not MT doesn't effect which servers u can see/connect to)

Between Single thread (ST) and Multi-thread (MT) versions there shouldn't be any significant differences (except performance) and you should be able to change back and forth with missions etc with no problems.  As HC_Official said, there are usually (except when they happen to be on the same version for bit) differences between Open Beta (OB) and Release versions that CAN make them incompatible.  So for example OB ST to OB MT: switching back and forth no issues.  OB ST/MT to Release ST/MT: may or may not have problems since there can be differences between OB and Release.  And the majority of servers run on OB so you'll need to run OB ST or OB MT to get on most servers.
