Groups don't pass information to other groups?

I was experimenting with stuff in the mission editor and noticed this. I did put a wwii flak group on an point on the map and another group with some searchlights on another point but still inside the flak area of engagement. Even though the searchlights worked and pointed to the aircraft, the flak didn't fire. I suspected that the searchlights should be in the same group as the flak in order for the flak to have the information of the position of the aircraft seeing by the searchlights. So I did that and it worked, the flak fired because the searchlight was in the same group. So the question is if it's possible to make different groups share the information on the position of the "enemy".

Well, if I understand this correctly the AI is pretty crazy, right? xD I'll just add some spotters around the batteries in the same group then.

Sorry, I was just being a goof.

Not sure of the answer to your question.  You might see if something called Skynet could help.  Its a script to simulate a networked coordinated IADS.  Maybe that could be adapted to you needs.  https://github.com/walder/Skynet-IADS

Though sounds like you have a simpler solution.

That's very interesting. For the scenario I'm creating that simpler solution will do, but it was interesting to learn about that for bigger and more modern scenarios. I'll give it a try. Thanks.
