It would be really useful to be able to assign a key to temporarily disable my Tobii Eye Tracker 5.

When using the Eye Tracker it can be difficult to position my mouse cursor over a control in the cockpit. To disable it I have to go into the Control Options and Disable the Tracker.

Within the Tobii Gamehub it is possible to assign a key to temporarily disable the Eye Tracker, however when using this the cockpit view is locked to the center position, and it is not possible to pan around the cockpit. So the only solution is to open the Control Options to Disable the Tracker, which totally ruins the immersion.

I would like to be able to (within DCS) assign a key (H) which can toggle Disable/Enable for the Eye Tracker.

Then I would have the Eye Tracker off, until I got airborne, and then turn it on.

It would be even better if it was natively supported within the game like Star Citizen is.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

It doesn't have a pause-hotkey like OpenTrack/TrackIR?

It does, but the Tobii software is… not mature. It's not a “pause” as such, but rather a “stop sending any kind of axis signals”. And it does so while still blocking other inputs.

Going for a different software layer can solve some of the lacklustre capabilities of the default software, but that means having to kill and restart the software itself to access any of the (often rather neat) systems integration outside of gaming.

But all in all, this is more of an issue that needs to be solved by Tobii, along with the myriad of other deficiencies in their software, rather than something that DCS should have to fix on their behalf.

I highly recommend to use Tobii Eyetracker in combination with FaceTrackNoIR (+ OpenTrack for even more fine control) in DCS. In both applications you have options to setup buttons to toggle/pause tracking. There is no need to have this in DCS.
