MadKreator Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 (edited) Found a little bug where, at least on my system, having SSS enabled while using DLSS cause massive shadow artifacts while rolling. Happens in all aircraft on every map I tried at lower altitudes. Much worse over cities. This was in f-16/instant action/freeflight/syria. -Occurs when using SSS and DLSS -Does NOT occur using SSS with DLSS off -Does NOT Occur using DLSS with SSS off Screenshots attached with settings.. I will attach a track, but oddly enough the issue doesn't show when I watch the track..not sure it will help No Mods, Nvidia settings at default. *Notice the dark random shadows around the scenery in the first two pictures.. and not there in the second two. f-16 syria dlss with sss issue .trk Edited October 19, 2023 by MadKreator Intel i7 13700k, ASUS rog strix z790A, 64gigs G.Skill Trident DDR5 @6400Mhz, Nvidia RTX 4080FE, 4TB, 2x 2TB, 1TB Samsung NVME, 1TB Samsung SSD, Corsair RM1000x, Corsair Titan 360 X AIO cooler, Lian Li LanCool 2, VKB Gunfighter Ultimate, VKB Custom STECS , MFG Crosswinds, Moza FFB, Virpil Collective, Track IR5, 48” LG UltraGear OLED & HP 24” touchscreen for Helios,49” Samsung Ultrawide, Streamdeck XL, Corsair Virtuoso RGB Headphones
Dubious Penguin Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 (edited) Original Post: 19 - Oct - 2023 I think I am getting a similar issue myself. (Note the front landing gear is where it is most apparent) I am running a Radeon 7900 xtx gpu. No matter what variation of TAA/SSS and motion blur combination that I try, the "tearing/artifacts" are still there. I also disabled any features from Radeon adrenaline software. Update Post: 20 - Oct - 2023 I restarted my PC this morning and the issue appears to be gone. I'll investigate further. I intend to turn settings on and off and see if the issue persists when set to off. If issues persist after turning the graphics setting to off - I will restart DCS and see if the setting truly switches "off" Testing Notes: TAA appears to be the source of the issue. While in the mission, I open the system menu and enable TAA The tearing/artifacts return While still in the mission, I turn TAA off from the settings menu The tearing/artifacts persist I exit the mission and ensure TAA is set to off from the main system settings menu I restart the mission with no TAA, the tearing/artifacts are now gone Original Post: 19 - Oct - 2023 (Footage and settings) DCS_MT.exe - Shortcut_2023.10.19-22.19_clip_1.mp4 Edited October 20, 2023 by Dubious Penguin Updated with new testing results.
Tophatter14 Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 (edited) Same with a 4090. Also take a look at your gun tracer rounds. Mine look…weird in the F-18. Edit: it may be this? Edited October 19, 2023 by Tophatter14

Edit: it may be this? So far, TAA seems to be the lone culprit for me on an AMD gpu. I wonder if it's best to start an AMD specific thread or if I should just leave this here?
