angrymancunian Posted October 24, 2023 Posted October 24, 2023 Had this issue too, my fix thus far is an asbestos one - put a piece of black tape over the proximity sensor! Sparviero1978 Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 Q2 here, same problem For me, it is a severe one, because you can't leave the session for any reason...

Unfortunatly the tape works for just few seconds after putting down the headset, if I wait some minutes it goes black
Sparviero1978 Posted October 28, 2023 Posted October 28, 2023 The problem is just ST-related. With MT, the headset can be put down without problem... but with MT Quest users don't see the laser of hand controllers... I don't know which is worse..
JRMBigBird Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 It happens in MT to me. I'll take the headset off and when I put it back on everything freezes. 1
Java333 Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 This issue has been driving me crazy for some time. Cant even take a toilet brake without restarting my mission. I found this supposed fix on reddit but have yet to attempt..

Rift-S here, same problem. Works fine in ST, not in MT. Putting a bit of black tape over the proximity sensor doesn't work either for me. Rapierarch Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 I only fly MT. Running Quest2 via link cable. (no openxr toolkit or whatever else. Just standalone DCS running directly on oculus) I have no issues. Both pass through or VR headset in sleep during flight does not cause any problems. For example it wakes up when I put it back on and game runs as it is expected orI can go to passthrough and change brightness of the headset and come back to DCS during flight without issues
Lange_666 Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 The problem comes from OpenXR Turbo mode set to ON in MT (in ST there is no such problem). If set to OFF i don't have that problem. Personally, i need it to set to ON in MT to prevent stutter, so it's either crashing/freezing DCS when the headset is removed or stutterfest while flying. 1 Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. xrx Posted November 12, 2023 Author Posted November 12, 2023 (edited) this needs to be fixed at API level to process VR messages properly, not with glue ntapes Edited November 14, 2023 by xrx

This is the fix! Its not a DCS issue its an Open XR issue. Only happens with Turbo Mode on! Lange_666 Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 Since the latest 2.9 DCS version (2.9.1.48111) i don't have stutter anymore in MT VR so i don't need Turbo mode anymore.
