Cannot Add Quotation Marks to Shortcut for Cmd Line Arguements

Hello, I am having an issue where every time I add quotation marks to the target path for DCS, the quotation marks automatically disappear when I apply the change.  Does anyone know of a solution?  I'm running Windows 11, and if I change that same shortcut to point to another executable on my PC, I can suddenly apply quotation marks.

my target - "Z:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\bin-mt\DCS.exe"

Is this because I do not have any spaces in the target path?   If so, would NOT having the quotes still enable the command line arguments?   I'm trying to troubleshoot why the --force_enable_VR command line isn't being recognized.

Edit-  it seems that the quotation marks are not needed when the target directory has no spaces between words and the command line arguments should work properly.   My issue lies elsewhere.... ugh!

hello. a couple links to check

the quotes on the command can be either way. with or without spaces. if the URL does have spaces, then the quotes are necessary. another trick to try is browse to the mt EXE, right click and create shortcut. the shortcut may go to desktop. examine that shortcut and then add the necessary arguments.
