Check stuttering in DCS and come back to task manager. -open that core settings again, choose opposite configuration, check unchecked cores and uncheck previously checked in. -press OK. Check stuttering in DCS and come back to task manager. -back in task manager select (check in) all cores again for DCS.exe -press OK. Check stuttering in DCS and come back to task manager. In my case when I am using hyperthread enabled I need to do likewise once, at first DCS.exe launch every windows restart... And of course I can't explain why it is working. Tip#2 Change your power plan in your windows settings, there is hidden power plan Ultra Performance that is different from High Performance, Balanced and Battery Saving which are basic ones. You can Google to set it as active and check out. Tip#3 Return your pagefile to auto Hello, The abovementioned Tip#1 is the only thing that is helping me with these freezes, I have tried verything. I have to do this exact procedure with affinity of the cores after I start EVERY mission, and then everything is smooth. My computer is not new but the issue is that when I do this procedure it works, and if it was always lagging I would know that my computer is just too slow, or I would lower my settings, but even with lower setttings the stutters are there. I have tried tweaking the following setttings without making any difference: Windows 10 Game mode "services.msc" - disabling "power" setting turning off OpenTrack + AITrack software, "PC Remote Receiver" sotware too, because I use it with my mobile phone instead of joystick MultiThreading or Standalone version Nvidia power usage setting vsync - all combinations, through Nvidia ControlPanel or through DCS itself Nvidia CP: Low Latency setting Disabling "fullscreen optimization" Setting Min and Max CPU setting in Windows 10 Power settings HighPrecisionTimer in Bios and probably some more that were listed in forums but cannot think of it right now, I think I tried everything I get 40-60 FPS when not flying just about rooftops (then I get some 20FPS) on South Atlantic Map. But these stutters are really making me not want to play DCS after all the modules that I bought. Is there a possibility for developers to, while searching for the root cause for these stutters that everybody is complaining about, just insert a routine of cycling core affinities, just like mentioned in Tip#1, when starting each mission? At least maybe as a temporary solution until the true cause is found? It wouldn't add any time when loading missions, really and I believe that it would make a lot of people happy? I am inserting a video of my problems, along with other necessary info about my system. Thx upfront 2024-01-09 22-52-12.mkv dcs.log DxDiag.txt
lovethewayoumove Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 I've opened a ticket directly with ED. That's the unique possible solution that I've finally found. I'll suggest to do the same. As much tickets as they get maybe we will get a solution. 1 PC SPECS: CPU: Intel i7 11700KF @ 3,6 GHz | MB: MSI MAG B560 MORTAR | GPU: MSI RTX4060Ti GAMING X 8GB DDR6 | MEMORY: Kingston FURY Beast DDR4 3200 MHz 2x32 GB | HD DCS: Samsung 980 Pro SSD 1TB NVMe M.2 | HD O/S: Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD 1TB NVMe M.2 | OS: Windows 11 | BIOS PROFILE: XMP1 | Monitors setup: Triple screens LG 22MP57VQ 60Hz | TRACKIR: Naturalpoint 5
Milos Posted March 30, 2024 Posted March 30, 2024 Update on the way I do this with Task Manager - I don't have to uncheck and check half of the cores (4) that I have, I can only uncheck the first core (Core 0) and then check it back and 90% of the time the game runs smooth with no hickups, and 10% of the time I repeat the proces and then it runs smooth. But still it should be easily solvable by setting core affinity preferences at the beggining of each track, right?
Vigo68 Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 try clean instalation of DCS. rename dcs folder in programs and dcs folder in saved games. Make a new instalation of dcs (basic with only caucasus an free module su 25) both - program and saved games. Try fly with su 25 and if this solve the problem, install other modules, tacwiev, etc... . Dont copy any files from old instalation. This solve stuttering problem for me without settings anything else.
Wiggo Posted April 27, 2024 Posted April 27, 2024 This is a known bug? ( atleast accoriding to Wags... it is) (MT version graphics freezing, I will be more exact later..) I have almost samekind of computer, though my GPU is even more older, though not very much. GTX 960 4gb+20gigs of ddr3+i5 4960k haswell OC. Wags said, was it in Mover & Gonky show or something (doesnt matter here, the source was legit as he said that himself). "With some, especially older, pc setups we still have some problems with MT version, like that freezing picture when chainging view, but we are working on it!". For me example everything seems very nice and smooth as long as I put LOD so little as i can but still as soon as in picture comes another airplanes, static objects what ever (like jumping from cockpit to outside view in the airfield) -> Graphs jam. They always go-on when waiting for a while. Same problem even in the cockpit, only way that is playable (MT version) for me is if I dont change my view to look outside (keep staring front ;D) so that is pretty much unplayable for me. Thats sad, as when it runs smootly it runs very smoothly. I had before 2.9 version constant 20-30 fps with high settings + flat shadows + 16x anistrophic, msaax2, ssao srss off. Even worser sometimes, but as I will not have money for new gpu for YEARS (its complicated another story) i was truly surprised how much even ST version fps has gotten up, and still things look much better also. But MT version that "boost" is even better, and it looks better in many ways (btw playing only 2d 1080p). With MT version i get ~30fps WHEN it is not freezing. But thats my experience of this, and I also wanted to ask is this the same prob that is a known bug... And oh, in MT version its same freezing when changing view. No matter what are the settings it will reply. But yeah NP i play ST version as long as needed. I would not be amazed if it would never get better. Anyways i have to buy soon new cpu as my cpu is not supported by windows 11 (which is laugable apple style of "just buy a new computer to run our system". Just for interest does somebodey who has this problem use win 11? Just wondering are those problems "in some pc-setups" older pc´s specially? Those one which do not run win 11? Didnt the lack of support for older machines in win 11 had something to do with multithreading also?
