DaleHawerchuk Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 Hi, I have read some posts about stuttering problems in MT, but most of them are dating back from when it was implemented, and I am wondering if I am the only one still having problems. I have a lot of stuttering with my MT version of DCS, at very random occurrences. Basically, 50% of the time I open up the game in MT, I need to Ctrl+Alt+Del shut it because I get a frame every 5 to 10 sec, in the menu.... the other 50% of the time it runs fine, sometimes it starts mid-flight for a few seconds. This is so frustrating to the point I was running ST because my pc can afford running it VR without DLSS. But now I want to try Quad Views and I need to run MT unfortunately. Here are my PC specs, honestly I really don't think it's an hardware issue. CPU: Intel Core i9-13900K RAM: XPG Lancer DDR5 64GB (2x32GB) 6000MHz CL30 SSD1: Samsung 980 Pro 2TB SSD2: Samsung 980 Pro 1TB MB: Gigabyte z790 Aorus Master VGA: GeForce 4090 RTX Pimax Crystal VR (just upgraded from an HTC Vive Pro 2, had the same issue with it) It is very weird because when I exit this game-breaking stuttering, my task manager CPU usage is usually below 20-30%, and the pc runs butter smooth as soon as I'm out of the game window.. I've spent a lot of hours optimizing my VR settings, and whatever the settings are it does not seem impact this stuttering issue incidence. Thanks for your help!

DaleHawerchuk Posted November 7, 2023 Author Posted November 7, 2023 I actually completely turned off the core parking through the registry editor, no joy. This morning I tried migrating from Steam DCS to Standalone, same results.
Esac_mirmidon Posted November 8, 2023 Posted November 8, 2023 Be sure you check with de Core Unparking software that they are already unparked. Or with Windows Resource Manager. Also worth check this thread https://forum.dcs.world/topic/328792-mt-freezes-even-in-main-menu/page/19/ " You must think in russian.." DaleHawerchuk Posted November 8, 2023 Author Posted November 8, 2023 Thank you so much you are my savior! You were right to ask to check, because when I did I realized cores were still parking! I tried disabling through the BIOS and through that registry editor everybody is talking about, but there is apparently a second registry editor to modify for hybrid CPUs like my i9-13900. CPU Unpark did not seem to affect this second registry, so I changed it manually like that guy recommended in the thread you referenced (through the power plan settings). What I did is referenced in the following post, everything works now, no more parking, no more crazy stuttering on menu opening. Hallelujah! https://forum.dcs.world/topic/328792-mt-freezes-even-in-main-menu/?do=findComment&comment=5318855
