S77th-RYKE Posted January 13, 2010 Author Posted January 13, 2010 thanks for sharing , 5320 total res minus 3360 minus 280 border sizes , that would mean you are running a 1680x1050 center screen so all 3 screens are 1680x1050. when I set border sizes on mine I get a crash .. I never modified the snapview ... how did you come up with that number ? Snap[9][13]["viewAngle"] = 219.777544238285 thanks [sIGPIC]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v108/madmaxx69/LOMAC/Rykesig1.jpg[/sIGPIC] Savage 77th , http://s77th.com |Core i7 920|Asus P6T Deluxe V2|GTX 285|9600GT-OC|6G DDR3|Softh on 3x22"CRTs|Tir2|yeahIsaidTir2|X-45|Haf 932|Vista Ultimate 64|

I never modified the snapview ... how did you come up with that number ? Snap[9][13]["viewAngle"] = 219.777544238285 thanks Yes, all 3 monitors are running at 1680x1050. I was also getting a crash when setting bordersize at first, the error I was making was that I was setting 5040x1050 in options.lua, you need to set 5040 + bordersize*2 x 1050, so 5320x1050 in options.lua and fred3.lua (monitor config). You also need to calculate the aspect of 5320x1050, not the aspect of 5040x1050. So aspect in fred3.lua and options.lua is 5.0666. I don't remember what was the default value for snap[9][13][viewAngle] but adjusting this value zoomed out the default cockpit view, so I have just played with it on trial and error. Hope this helps, -fred
S77th-RYKE Posted January 13, 2010 Author Posted January 13, 2010 thanks , I'll test later this afternoon but so far I think my mistake has been not making a "1 monitor" lua like your fred3.lua I'll try to get it to work and will update my 1 st post with new info to make it easy for more people to enjoy 3 monitors for free !! go Softh !! so... how are you enjoying 5 feet wide of BS ? haha so far I played BS , Bioshock , Call of Duties (4-5-6), Nascar2003 , fallout 3 , Crysis . I'm waiting for FC2 to mess with lockon . Can't wait . fred99 Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 hehe I really enjoy BS using this resolution and 3 monitors, trackir is a must also! I get decent FPS (capped at 40). Since this is a new system, I haven't been able to test a lot of games with SoftTH, I am now trying to make it work with LO:MAC:FC-1.12b. It works fine, but I don't get good bandwidth on the left (slave card) monitor, it has like a few MS lag, still working on it. Zoom and FOV are correctly configured though. Something I need to fix is CUDA support for SoftTH, this CUDA language looks promising and I would like to make it work on my Win7-64 system, which is currently complaining about missing cudart.dll file. I will check environment variables tonight to make sure cuda's directory is in there. -fred

I'd rather not post it in here as it may mess up people thinking it's a BS config . thanks Edited January 13, 2010 by S77th-RYKE [sIGPIC]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v108/madmaxx69/LOMAC/Rykesig1.jpg[/sIGPIC] Savage 77th , http://s77th.com |Core i7 920|Asus P6T Deluxe V2|GTX 285|9600GT-OC|6G DDR3|Softh on 3x22"CRTs|Tir2|yeahIsaidTir2|X-45|Haf 932|Vista Ultimate 64|

I have read that the PATH env variable must contains CUDA's installation directory, also it looks like someone had it working using the 32-bit dll. Still need to tweak and test a few things to officially declared it non-working on my comp. my experience so far with LO-FC has been very low fps and a long long time before I could even look around at game load . Same problem for me, at first I thought it was my graphics.cfg settings but after unloading TrackIR-5 software, it started to get better. There is a bug where you need to manually delete, I think, 3 TrackIR files inside LO:MAC directory to fix it, that must be done each time you start the game. that's one of the reason's why I'm really looking forward to FC2 , as I'm getting really good fps in BS . Can't wait for 2.0 also, helos are cool but I like jets more :joystick: when you have a chance can you send me your LO-FC config in my pm ? No problem, -fred
S77th-RYKE Posted January 13, 2010 Author Posted January 13, 2010 I tried the damn borders again . failed I can get into the game and the borders look different but I lose the ability to click in the pit .. also my FOV looks wrong , squashed a bit , electric poles are too short . I changed ; 1-my softh.cfg to include borders 2-options.lua to my new aspect ratio and res 3840x1024 + borders 250x2 = 4340x1024 , aspect is now 4.2382 3-made a Softh_1_camera.lua and pointed options.lua at it Description = 'One monitor configuration' Viewports = { Center = { x = 0; y = 0; width = 4340; height = 1024; viewDx = 0; viewDy = 0; aspect = 4.2382; } } 4-added the snapview setting (I'm now "zoomed out" on start) I wonder what I forgot .. fred99 Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 You could try setting: borderSize=0 sideExtraWidth=0 Change all the game configs to 3840x1024 aspect 3.75 and load the game once and see how it goes, if it works, try resetting: borderSize=250 sideExtraWidth=0 Change all the game configs back to 4340x1024 aspect 4.2382. I had a weird bug on lo:mac:fc where the size of the border i had set in softth.cfg wasn't working properly, I was seeing 280px of my windows desktop in lomac menu, to fix it i had to do the above. Hope this helps -fred

fred99 Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Yeah, the bordersize feature is really nice, I can say it adds a better feel when in the pit, the shark windows almost fit exactly on all 3 monitors.
Mr_Burns Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 I have a question on displays, im running 3x 17" using softth which is ideal, I dont like the line down the middle of the cockpit when using dual screen. When playing BS I prefer to run it on one screen with the SHKVL on the other. I have 2 video cards with 4 outputs so one is currently free and I want my simpit to have 3 displays and then a 4th for the MFD. So what are my choices, replace 2 monitors with a 32" widescreen (makes my simpit expensive and against my plans) but then I could have monitor 2 as the MFD and monitor 3 as the engine instruments. Can I run 4 monitors and have 1,2 and 3 as the cockpit view and then 4 as a MFD? This is not triplehead more like quadhead, is that possible? Thanks

C6_Hellfrog Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Hello I never used SoftTh on BS, but perhaps you should check 6.406 SoftTH: Main device lost during left device initialization I think you have to activate devices from left to right, then activate BS, to it work properly.... but I'm absolutely not sure about what I just said, and I even don't know how to.
DerZocker Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 try to use secondaryFormat=RGB16 and / or uploadMethod=blit perhaps this helps ;)
